Outdoorsy pet parents take note – this converted three-bedroom barn is located in a gorgeous rural spot deep in Cornwall, making it wonderful for a pet-friendly escape among families and friends. It’s surrounded by countryside trails and 10 miles from the breathtaking St Agnes Heritage Coast, where your pets can frolic all year round at Trevaunance Cove beach (please check other beaches for seasonal restrictions). The nearby market town of Redruth (4.5 miles) is also full of doggie-welcoming pubs, cafés and restaurants to explore with your pets in tow.
Inside, this stylish barn is a cosy nest for six humans and up to two canine chums. The entrance leads into a charming, fully equipped kitchen with farmhouse touches and a central breakfast table – excellent for relaxing and socialising as your pups come in and out from the garden. The open-plan lounge/diner is light and airy, with skylights, a wood burner to keep furry tails warm, and a Freeview TV for the humans. Patio doors from here, too, lead out to a decked area that’s set up for al fresco dining. You’ll also have a cosy snug lined with bookshelves along with a games room boasting a snooker table. There are three spacious bedrooms: a stunning super-king with an en-suite shower room and walk-in wardrobe, plus two inviting doubles. A family bathroom and an extra shower room complete the indoor space. Outside, the large enclosed garden is an absolute paradise for dogs and children, with sweeping lawns, mature trees and plenty of shady snooze spots.
For dog-friendly days out, Tehidy Country Park (9 miles) has 250 acres of woodland trails your wet-nosed companions will be keen to sniff out. Head south to Falmouth (8 miles) for two sandy beaches which are doggie-friendly all year round. Dogs on leads are also welcome at the town’s Pendennis Castle and Enys Gardens, which has gorgeous displays of bluebells in the spring.
