This chocolate-box cottage is tucked away in the heart of Kirkcudbright, in the south-west of Scotland. The holiday retreat, which welcomes four guests and two canine buddies, suits couples and small families looking to rest and recharge in beautiful surroundings. The area is known for its spectacular coastal scenery and remote beaches, such as nearby Dhoon Beach and Carrick Bay (both of which welcome woofers all year).

The 18th-century cottage is full of personality, with exposed stonework, beamed ceilings, and a quirky collection of colourful soft furnishings and accessories. Relax in the cosy lounge, where you can warm your toes and paws by the wood burner and catch up on your favourite programmes on the Smart TV. The country-cottage-style kitchen/diner is the perfect spot to whip up delicious feasts for the group, which you can share around the wooden dining table. Heading upstairs, discover an inviting king-size bedroom with an en-suite bathroom on the first floor. Another flight of stairs leads to the second floor and a delightful twin bedroom with an en-suite shower room. Outside, wander through the shared garden to find your private seating area and summerhouse – the ideal place for a glass of wine or al fresco supper. The property has on-street parking, subject to availability.

Kirkcudbright is a picturesque town with pastel-coloured houses and historic buildings. Known as ‘The Artists’ Town’, it boasts a fabulous array of galleries and studios showcasing local talent. The bustling high street has a great range of independent shops, and there’s also a popular farmers’ market every month. There are some wonderful coastal walks in the local area, including a rugged trail around St Mary’s Isle, which juts out into Kirkcudbright Bay.

This is an excellent cottage - great location, stylish, comfortable and decorated empathetically with its heritage. We loved our stay and it most certainly contributed to our overall enjoyment of Kirkcudbright.

Delightful quiet mews cottage off high street ( not shopping high street ! ) in historic part of town 5 minutes walk from town centre and harbour. Very clean and well thought out with everything you need. Note the twin room is up 2 flights of stairs partly in the eaves and as a result the beds are low which maybe an issue for those with mobility isRead moresues. Hide

A really clean, cozy, comfortable and well equipped cottage with loads of character in a quiet and secluded location close to the centre of Kirkcudbright. It was delightful and we shall no doubt stay there again in the future. There is a pleasant garden area for use in summer. The second bedroom has two single beds and a low ceiling, so the propertRead morey is more suited to a couple, with or without children, than for two adult couples. There is good central heating, but th wood burning stove makes all the difference in winter. Hide

A lovely, well-equipped cottage in a good location. The cottage is well designed and nicely decorated. The town itself is full of interest and the local area has much to offer. There are many good eating places in the town. The people are friendly and there is a real community spirit to the town.

Unusual and cozy cottage, well equipped and very comfortable. Great location in Kirkcudbright which is such a peaceful and interesting town. No problems parking but most places in town were easily walking distance. Lovely holiday in a super location. Thank you.

Beautiful and comfortable cottage located in a picturesque and welcoming town. The cottage had everything we needed for our stay. It was lovely to arrive and find a welcome basket and milk in the fridge to make a coffee or tea.
