This chocolate-box Devon cottage sits just outside the charming fishing village of Clovelly. Sleeping four guests and two pups, the cottage suits families who love getting out and about in nature. The surrounding area is a paradise for dog walkers, with stunning coast paths and hidden coves to explore. You’ll be close to some of North Devon’s most iconic beaches, such as Westward Ho! (10 miles).
The 18th-century cottage exudes character and charm, with stone floors, exposed beams, and antique-style furniture. After a long dog walk, fire up the cosy wood burner in the lounge and sink into one of the colourful chairs to read your book or watch the Smart TV. The galley kitchen is equipped with everything needed for a self-catering break, and the delightful dining room with its beamed ceiling and vibrant accessories is a lovely spot for family mealtimes. Steep, open-tread cottage stairs lead to the first floor, which is home to a bunk bedroom and a family bathroom. Completing the cottage is a double bedroom boasting views of Lundy Island. Please note that, as this is a period property, you may find low ceilings and beams in some areas. Outside, an enclosed patio garden wraps around the cottage, with furniture and a BBQ for al fresco dining. Private parking is available for one car, with on-street parking nearby, subject to availability.
Head into Clovelly (1 mile) to explore its quaint, cobbled high street and admire the cottages and historic buildings. Enjoy a bite to eat in one of the paw-friendly pubs, or tuck into an ice cream whilst watching the boats coming and going in the harbour. For a day at the seaside, journey to Westward Ho!, where you’ll find a long, sandy beach that welcomes pups all year (there’s a dog-free zone in summer months).
