Set in an idyllic part of Somerset, this characterful retreat makes a fantastic holiday home for couples and smaller families enjoying a tranquil rural escape. With ample space for four human and three canine guests, the stylishly updated and tastefully furnished barn conversion retains plenty of its natural character, with original timber beams, a high vaulted ceiling, whitewashed stonework and a welcoming wood burner. Perfect for walkers, cyclists and nature spotters, the cottage lies on a farm along the outskirts of Clevedon, a cheerful seaside town looking out across the Severn Estuary.
Entering this thoughtfully updated cottage, you will be greeted by a beautiful open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with an impressive beamed and vaulted ceiling and toasty underfloor heating. The inviting lounge has a Smart TV, wood burner and plush seating, with a country-style dining table to the side and a bright, fully equipped kitchen space in the corner. The ground floor also features a rustic-style king-size bedroom and a bright, spacious bathroom. From the main living area, an open-tread staircase leads up to the final bedroom – a lovely twin room set in the eaves of the property, with skylights perfect for stargazing on a clear night. Outside, there’s a sweet courtyard garden with outdoor furniture and a BBQ, ideal for dining alfresco with your pets lying in the shade. There’s a boule court and space for canine companions to exercise in a garden shared with the neighbouring cottage. Private parking is available for one car.
Clevedon is known for its Victorian-era – and dog-friendly – Grade I-listed pier, alongside a choice of great places to eat and drink. There are some lovely pet-welcoming beaches along this stretch of the Somerset coast, including the sandy cove at Ladye Bay (2.5 miles) and Sand Bay, north of the popular resort of Weston-super-Mare (12 miles).
