This traditional stone cottage is in the unspoilt village of West Burton in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Sleeping six guests and two furry friends, the holiday home makes a great base for families and groups of friends. The surrounding countryside is a paradise for walkers and four-pawed explorers, with tracks and trails leading to beauty spots such as Cauldron Falls or Aysgarth Falls.
The cottage has a home-away-from-home vibe, with soft furnishings and an array of creature comforts to make your stay as relaxed as possible. Leave walking boots and dog leads in the handy utility room, before heading through to the lounge. This bright and inviting space boasts dual-aspect windows and is full of character, thanks to its exposed stone wall and beamed ceiling. Unwind here, watching the Smart TV whilst the hounds doze in front of the warming wood burner. The separate kitchen/diner is a joy to cook in, with far-reaching countryside views and all the equipment needed for a self-catering break. Come together around the large dining table for family mealtimes and, in summer months, open the French doors to the terrace to allow the woofers to amble in and out. Upstairs, three tastefully decorated bedrooms await. One of the bedrooms has an en-suite shower room, and there’s also a family bathroom on this level. To the rear of the cottage is an enclosed terrace that features an original, covered well, along with a hot tub and outdoor seating. You’ll also find a patio to the front of the cottage, with outdoor furniture and a BBQ – the ideal spot for entertaining on a summer’s evening. The property has private parking for two cars.
Journey into the ancient market town of Leyburn (8 miles) to browse in the independent shops and dine in one of the many cafes, pubs, or restaurants. There are some fantastic walks to explore from the town, including to the summit of Leyburn Shawl.
