Lying close to the heart of the popular seaside resort of Whitby, this welcoming reverse-level holiday cottage makes a fantastic base for beach lovers, railway enthusiasts and walkers keen to explore the North Yorkshire coastline with their four-pawed pal. With ample space for four guests and one medium-size pet dog, the cheerful retreat lies close to the town’s harbour and railway station, perfect for watching steam trains as they head out towards the North York Moors. Tastefully furnished throughout, and decorated in light relaxing tones, this cheery hideaway is ideal for couples and smaller families enjoying a break in a popular coastal resort.
Stepping inside this airy cottage, the hallway leads though to a pretty open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with a far-reaching view across Whitby, over the harbour and towards the Abbey. The relaxing lounge has ample seating and a Smart TV, with a handy dining table to the side. The rear corner of the room features the fully equipped and thoughtfully organised kitchen. Downstairs you will have a choice of two fresh and cosy bedrooms: a cheerful king-size room and a delightful twin, alongside an invigorating shower room. From the king-size bedroom, a door leads out into a sweet garden space with a patio, lawn and outdoor furniture, making an ideal spot for watching the trains steam past while your pet snoozes in the shade. There’s also a private parking space for one car.
Whitby has some fantastic pet-friendly beaches (with some seasonal restrictions) and a variety of dog-welcoming pubs. Your pet can join you on a boat trip along the River Esk and out to sea, or take a quiet stroll along the Cleveland Way. The 199 Steps lead up to the ruins of Whitby Abbey, or you can head inland by steam engine to discover the North York Moors.
