Accompany your family dog on long walks through the magnificent Purbeck Peninsula with a stay at this retreat. Sleeping five guests, this three-bedroom, pup-friendly haven is situated in vibrant Swanage, just over 1 mile from the pet-friendly Monkey Beach and the South West Coast Path. It comes with an enclosed rear garden, where you can bask in the Dorset sunshine and your dog can savour the fresh air.

Clean down sandy paws following afternoons on the beach or long walks through the hills. Enter to find yourselves in a character-laden lounge, with beautiful, exposed stone walls and plush sofas. Let your pup pal stretch out on the floor while you catch up on your current boxset on the Smart TV. Call your dog into the kitchen/diner so you can top up her food and water bowls. Make delicious meals for everyone else too on those occasions you choose not to dine out in a dog-friendly Swanage pub. At the end of each fun-filled day, settle Dora the dog for the night and run yourself a long, hot bubble bath in the downstairs bathroom. Climb the steep, cottage-style stairs to your bedrooms. A double and a single are on the first floor. The double has doors to a private terrace where you can unwind on summer evenings. A twin bedroom, with a PS4 for the younger members of your party, is on the floor above. Take your canine friend out into the enclosed rear garden as often as the weather permits. Picnic out here in the summer sun or enjoy afternoon tea. Parking for this property is on the road, subject to availability.

Pack a beach bag and venture 4.5 miles to spectacular Studland Bay. Here your dog can dart in and out of the waves at any time of year. Drive the same distance to Corfe Castle where pups can accompany people through the ruins.

This cottage is in a really good location with lovely views from the front. However it was left absolutely filthy. Had we not been in a rush to get to our walk we would have asked for a full clean to be carried out. We wouldnt stay here again.

The cottage is situated in a perfect position to get out and explore the Dorset countryside, with parking outside and avoiding having to drive through Swanage if you need to get anywhere. The lounge is cosy with lots of seating and a couple of throws to aid your comfort. To note that the fire in the lounge is actually electric, and not a real logRead more burner! The kitchen is plenty big enough to whip up a quick meal and is pretty well stocked, including a dishwasher which we found useful. The bathroom is a little on the small size, mainly due to the cupboard housing the washing machine - this was essential after a muddy walk! The big positive is the shower as it was so hot and powerful and much better than some hotels I have stayed at!! Bedrooms were of a good size and beds were comfortable, though do be aware that the stairs are quite steep, so not ideal for young children or anyone a bit unsteady on their feet. We didn't use the garden due to the time of year but it would have been nice to have in the summer, though again accessed by steps which might be an issue for some. We found it difficult to connect to the internet whilst there, using the WiFi details provided, which meant no streaming things on the tv after our walks. However for mobile reception the area is fine and we all got 4G both in the house and in town. It is a couple of minutes drive into Swanage or probably 15 minutes walk (we didn't get the chance to walk it) and you can be at a number of lovely Dorset places within 30 minutes including Lulworth Cover, Durdle Door, Corfe Castle and Studland. I would stay here again for a short walking break in Dorset. Hide

Cottage was fine but in my opinion the outside area was not great for a dog.

We had s pleasant visit. Particularly useful was having bus stops and a good food shop nearby. Some guests may struggle with the steep and barrow stairs.
