Weather was wonderful. Cottage very comfortable although the top floor bedroom sink means bending double when cleaning teeth, so as not to bump your head. There are a lot of steps with this property. Everything worked and it was a handy base for walking. We had a lovely time.

The Cooper's cottage is very stylish and ideally placed in Cromford for visitors who want to explore the Peaks and the history of the area. The cottage is well equipped, very clean and comfortable with an on demand heating system which keeps the rooms lovely and warm on the colder days. The bathrooms have plenty of hot water and there's a great shoRead morewer on the first floor. A thoughtful pint of milk in the fridge and a few extras were welcome. The cottage is quiet at night even though there is a busy road and a (delightful) pub nearby. There are muslin curtains in one bedroom so you may need an eye mask. There are only stools and a high table for eating. We would recommend visits to Bakewell, a walk to Hassop station cafe and canal walk to High peak pump station both of which are just over a mile. The Heights of Abraham although expensive were well worth seeing for the variety of experiences on offer, the views and the lovely food in the Vista cafe. It may not be suitable or good value for people with mobility issues however. We had a great time in Cooper's cottage. Hide

We had a wonderful stay at The Cooper's Cottage in Cromford, Derbyshire. The place was immaculate throughout. All you could need, was provided, to make your stay really pleasant. Every room is stylish with just the right amount of furniture, so nothing feels squashed or tight in space. All of our party said how comfortable the beds were. We enjoyedRead more our early evenings, with a drink and a great view of the hills seen from the windows. Cromford is a super little village to stay in, away from too much hustle and bustle, but lively enough to not feel isolated. We love going away in the autumn for all the brilliant colours on the trees (and the ground) and that's just what we got. We come from a fairly flat area, ourselves, so coming to this part of the country is a real treat, we just love the rolling hills and tranquil green countryside, in abundance here. Plenty of lovely walks from the cottage or a short drive to other villages and sites. Lots of things to do and places to visit. Hide

A home from home cottage with everything you need - including dog bed, toys and treats! The lovely garden and dining table gave us somewhere to eat outside in the evening! Friendly and helpful owner - allowed us into the cottage early!! Some many pubs and walks close by - especially the Boat Inn!

This cottage is in a great location with a good pub right opposite. The beds are comfortable and the shower is good. The decoration is stylish, but this is sometimes at the expense of functionality - the sofa will only really seat 3 even though the cottage sleeps 6, so you can't all watch television together. Similarly, the kitchen diner would haveRead more room for a proper dining table but instead has a breakfast bar with 4 high stools - not at all the same thing when you are on a family holiday and want to eat together, play board games, etc. Also, the bedroom curtains are just thin muslin which is elegant but they don't block the light at all - an issue when dawn is at 5 in the morning and you want a holiday lie-in! We resorted to draping the bed-throw over the curtain rail but what is needed is blackout lining to the curtains. Most importantly, the staircase is very steep but there is no handrail - this is really dangerous and could so easily be sorted. Overall, a good cottage in a good location but with significant and unnecessary drawbacks - it's a shame that these practicalities clearly haven't been considered when furnishing the cottage. Hide

House was a great base for exploring the area either by foot or car, and the garden was well used during the glorious weather. Very relaxing two weeks and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
