South of here, you can hop on a steam train from Kent and East Sussex Railway (6 miles) to Tenterden town (4 miles). Spend a day in Rye (10.5 miles), see the Battle of Hastings Museum (14.5 miles) or head to the dog-friendly Glyne Gap Beach (21.5 miles).
