Watch the sun go down across the sea from the balcony of this superbly renovated and spacious hideaway. The barn is set on a working farm, surrounded by fields and with the sea and a vast stretch of sand at glorious Mawgan Porth on the doorstep. Sleeping six guests across three bedrooms, it is perfect for a family or group of friends. The classic Cornish beach offers swimming, with lifeguards on duty in high season, rock pools and surfing when those Atlantic rollers arrive. Join the South West Coast Path for a wonderful hike and gorgeous views towards Bedruthan Steps or walk inland along the valley to pretty St Mawgan (0.5 miles), where you can buy delicious local produce at the village stores. The colourful fishing port of Padstow and the National Trust gem of Trerice, a small Elizabethan manor house with a delightful garden, are both within 7.5 miles.

A private farm lane leads to the stone-clad barn and a bright, spacious and welcoming hallway with plenty of space to remove and store boots and beach paraphernalia. Charmingly furnished, the interior features fine original beams and areas of exposed stone, with a vaulted ceiling in the first-floor living space. This light-filled, open-plan layout features two sets of double doors opening onto a balcony with lovely, rural views, alongside comfortable seating in front of a cosy wood burner. At the opposite end is a sleek and stylish kitchen with a breakfast bar and large dining table. The ground floor houses three inviting bedrooms: a king-size with an en-suite, a double and a zip-and-link twin room (which can be made into a king-size on request at time of booking). Completing the ground floor is a lavish family bathroom with a freestanding, clawfoot bath and walk-in waterfall shower, and a utility room.

Outside, you have the choice of two delightful spots from which to enjoy the vista towards the coast: the lawned garden and patio, and the first-floor suntrap balcony. Both have comfortable outdoor furniture. There is private parking for three cars.

Beautiful barn in lovely peaceful location - there is some occasional road noise and noise from airport but nothing too intrusive. Cows in fields next to cottage no bother and lots of bird and wildlife to enjoy. Drive down the lane to cottage a little bumpy so take care

We had a fabulous week at this beautiful property. The location was perfect for exploring the coastal path and the dog friendly beaches, around Padstow and Newquay. A stunning property in a beautiful location, we wanted a chilled out holiday after an extremely demanding few weeks of work and this place was perfect for it. It's ideally placed for a whole host of wonderful places to visit too, some of the best beaches I've seen anywhere in the world are all within easy reach. Highly recommended!
