This characterful and traditional cottage with wooden beamed ceilings, a wood burner and countryside views from the garden sleeps up to four guests and two canine companions. In the south of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, you’ll be surrounded by scenic walking trails, dinky villages and historic attractions.
Step inside and find yourself in the cosy, neutral-toned lounge with wooden and leather country-style furnishing. At the heart of the space is an exposed stone inglenook fireplace with a wood burner. Natural light pours through the windows into the seating area with flagstone flooring and a wooden beamed ceiling. Continue into the homely kitchen with colourful accents and farmhouse-style wooden countertops. There is also a round dining table in the centre of the room. Climb the cottage-style stairs to reach a double and a twin bedroom with original wooden floorboards. Completing the interior is a shower room. Outside and a short walk (50yds) up the lane, you’ll find an enclosed garden with furniture, a BBQ and a summerhouse. There is on-street parking available.
While staying in the rural village of Hebden, you could visit the local tearoom for a pick-me-up before taking Fido for a stroll along the River Wharfe (both within 0.5 miles). Lead the way to adventure at the Malham Cove (14 miles) where you can sniff out a waterfall and a dramatic limestone amphitheatre. Visit the historic market town of Skipton (11 miles) to see the medieval castle and for some canal-side dining. Grassington is also just 2 miles away and is great for browsing independent shops and galleries. If you like water sports, don’t miss the Yorkshire Dales Sailing Club (3 miles). Also nearby is the 12th-century Augustinian Bolton Priory (9 miles).
