Treat your family and four-pawed friends to an adventure-filled getaway at this charming lodge in the heart of Northumberland. It’s located within a country park between Morpeth and Alnwick, with a private hot tub and on-site restaurant – you could be forgiven for never wanting to leave the grounds. Your pets won’t be happy with that though, so when it’s time for walks, you’ll find pathways leading from the park and plenty of beaches and coast paths around 8 miles away.
Step inside this alpine-style lodge and be wowed by the wooden interior. The open-plan living area comprises a kitchen, lounge and diner, and is bathed in natural light from picture windows that frame stunning lakeside views – perfect for unwinding with a hot drink (or something stronger) after a day of adventures. The double bedroom and twin bedroom continue the cosy, homely feel, while the stylish shower room finishes off the inside space. Outside, sip coffee on the decked terrace while your pup watches the world go by. Head down the wooden steps for strolls around the lake or rest tired limbs in the bubbling hot tub as the sun sets. There’s private parking for two cars.
If your pets are beach-loving types, head to the dog-friendly Druridge Bay Beach (8 miles) where you’ll find 3 miles of sandy beaches and dunes to explore. At Amble (11 miles), wander around the harbour and perhaps board a boat trip to Coquet Island, home to puffins and seals. Northumberland Coastal Path is wonderful for long, satisfying walks with your pets leading the way, or you can lose yourselves in the majestic natural beauty of Northumberland National Park (10 miles).
