Get away from it all with your loved ones at this gorgeous, converted farm building in a complex of properties in the secluded hamlet of Llandetty. Sleeping four people over two bedrooms and welcoming three canine companions, this is the ideal accommodation option for small families or groups of friends. Spend days taking your dogs for walkies along the scenic trails of the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park, and in the evening, come home to savour an al fresco dinner on the private patio.

Park your cars in the private parking area (there’s room for two vehicles) and head through the courtyard to this delightful conversion. Step through the characterful arched French doors and you’ll be greeted by an open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area that exudes rustic charm. Take a moment to admire the beamed ceilings, rich parquet flooring, and crackling wood burner as you make yourself at home in the lounge area. When it’s time to eat, head into the farmhouse-style kitchen to rustle up some dinner to enjoy with your loved ones at the large wooden dining table. Alternatively, dine alfresco on the private patio in the shared courtyard while your pups roam freely in the enclosed space. After dinner, make your way to the shared games room for a game of pool, or head back to the living area to warm your toes by the wood burner. At the end of each busy day away, two super-king-size bedrooms await, one of which boasts an en-suite shower room, the other an en-suite bathroom. Both bedrooms boast zip-and-link beds that convert to twins on request.

Stroll along the peaceful Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal (9.5 miles) with your pups in tow or rent a narrow boat to experience the canal from the water. Alternatively, grab your hiking boots and head to Pen y Fan (12.5 miles) for a rewarding hike and panoramic views.
