Lose yourselves in the astounding views out across the River Dart as you and your four-legged friend relax at this Devon holiday home. Sleeping six guests, the spectacular, three-bedroom Dartmouth retreat enjoys a truly enviable position with a commanding, unspoiled outlook right across the water. For the pup in your party, there is a lawned garden to enjoy, as well as days out to a choice of pup-friendly beaches.

Accompany your canine companion very carefully down the 50 outside steps to let yourselves into the incredible property. Hang your jackets and the dog lead in the hall and amble on into the magnificent open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This truly amazing space has a vaulted ceiling, revealed stonework and banks of glass that pull the waterside views right inside. Here you can also cater for your party, dine together and spend precious time with your best furry friend. One of your bedrooms, a double, is also at this level, together with a modern, family shower room. The two remaining bedrooms, a king-size and a twin, are on the floor below. The king-size has an en-suite bathroom and there is another family shower room. Spill out into the garden on sunny days. Supervise pets and children as they play out on the lawn. Dine under the stars and take in the views of the twinkling lights as night falls. There is no parking at this cottage but a permit for a nearby car park will be provided.

Pack a picnic and take your happy hound to enjoy the pet-friendly beaches at Castle Cove or Sugary Cove, 3 miles away. The National Trust’s Little Dartmouth, 2 miles away, is another great place to exercise energic pups, as well as to pick up the South West Coast Path and stride out together on a long walk.

Brilliant cottage in a wonderful setting. The steps down can get a tad slippy if wet, but once in the cottage all was excellent.

The beacon boathouse is a stunning property in an amazing location. We stayed here 2 years ago and were so excited to return. The additional sofa was much appreciated and provided extra room for the six of us to relax together. We would definitely book this property again and recommend it highly.

The location was superb and we enjoyed our visit to Dartmouth. We were lucky that the house adjacent was vacant as the garden sits behind that house and letting the dog out would have been embarrassing each day. Privacy would have been an issue with no blinds or curtains in the kitchen and dining room , which are both overlooked. What a lovely house! The view is definitely the wow factor- its amazing The location is perfect. Very central and easy to walk everywhere. The house is clean and modern with lovely big and comfortable sofas which are perfect for river watching. The steps down are steep so would be unsuitable for less able bodies but for us they were certRead moreainly worth the effort. Great location, for a Dartmouth stay with lots of space to chill with the most wonderful views across the inlet to Kingswear. The access steps are steep, so your quads will definitely get a work out. A little dated inside and not that well equipped (quality over quantity), appears to need a little TLC

Every one of the 50 steps down (and back up again of course) to this property was worth it to get the best views in Dartmouth. A lovely holiday home.

We had a fantastic stay at Beacon Boathouse, the views were spectacular over the River Dart and out towards the castle. The property was a short walk to town and the car ferry across to Kingwear. However, the steps were extremely steep - if you have mobility issues I wouldnt recommend.

The view from the lounge is stunning, and the sound of water lapping against the walls is very relaxing. The house is well appointed and that's a small shared garden (with river views) The two downsides are 1) the 50 or so steps between the house and the road (but it is Dartmouth and most houses have steps) and the amount of glass in the livingRead more room makes it pretty warm when the sun shines. There's 2 hours of parking on the road but there's also a permit to park in manor road car park which is a 10 to o 15 mom walk away. Hide

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at Beacon Boathouse - a really special waterside location with panoramic views of the river Dart through exceptionally wide dual-aspect windows. We spent most of the week just staring out at the view and all the activity on the water, and have already booked our next visit!

This is a wonderful property within walking distance of the town. The views are spectacular and the property is well equipped. This is the perfect home from home in Dartmouth.
