This traditional cottage for two humans and two hounds is set in the rural Dorset village of Frampton. The ancient market town of Dorchester is just 6 miles away and boasts many independent shops, eateries, art galleries and museums. In the evenings, enjoy al fresco drinks in the courtyard or snuggle up beside the wood burner.
The detached cottage sits on a quiet, country lane, adjacent to the owner’s home. Inside, hang up coats and dog leads in the hall, before moving through to the heart of the home – an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. With a vaulted ceiling and exposed beams, this space oozes Cornish charm. After a walk with the woofers, get cosy in front of the wood burner and watch the Smart TV, or head down the small flight of steps to the country-style kitchen to prepare dinner. Nestled at the bottom of the staircase is a cute dining table, and completing this floor is a handy utility cupboard and a stylish bathroom. Upstairs, on a mezzanine floor, is a gorgeous king-size bedroom set beneath the eaves. This cosy space features plush linens and a skylight for stargazing at night. Please note, this room has a low ceiling and restricted head height in some areas. Outside, the courtyard garden boasts a furniture set for al fresco dining in summer months and is fully enclosed for your canine buddies. Private parking is available for one car.
For history enthusiasts, a visit to the fascinating Iron Age hillfort at Maiden Castle is a must, as is a trip to Cerne Abbas Giant – the famous chalk figure carved into the hillside (both 8 miles away). Heading to the coast, explore the vibrant sailing town of Weymouth (15 miles) and the 17-mile shingle stretch at Chesil Beach (also 15 miles). You’ll be just 20 miles from the Jurassic Coast beauty spots of Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove too.
