This Cornish hideaway sits high above the fishing village of Newlyn. The cottage welcomes four guests and one waggy-tailed chum and is perfect for couples and small families, boasting two attractive outdoor spaces and a cosy snug. You’ll be close to Penzance and the nearby, paw-friendly beach Wherrytown (both 1 mile).
The stone cottage is full of personality, with beamed ceilings and colourful artwork. Wander through the pretty cottage garden to the front door, leaving boots and dog leads in the porch. Entering the lounge, you’ll find a cosy room with comfortable seating, a Smart TV and a roaring wood burner – perfect for the dozing hound. From here, three steps lead to the fully equipped kitchen/diner, with its shaker-style units and cute dining table. With hard flooring and direct access to the garden, this is a good spot for Rover’s bed. A family bathroom with a roll-top bath completes this level. Upstairs, the welcoming snug has a Smart TV and a workstation by the window. At bedtime, choose from two king-size rooms, one with sea views and the other with a Juliet balcony and en-suite shower room. Outside, to the front is an enclosed space with a raised terrace and far-reaching views. To the rear, you’ll find a secluded, shady courtyard. Please note, the property is set in an elevated position and is reached by a steep ascent from the village. Public parking is available nearby.
Newlyn is a bustling harbour village with a good selection of pubs and cafes. Let Rover lead the way along the promenade to the colourful town of Penzance, or stride out along the dramatic South West Coast Path to nearby Mousehole, 1 mile in the other direction. Doggy days out from the cottage include The Minack Theatre, Land’s End and the seaside resort of St Ives (all within 10 miles).
