This stylish holiday retreat is set in the quaint hamlet of Baythorne End, on the Suffolk/Essex border. The property makes a fantastic bolthole for couples and small families holidaying with their four-pawed chum. There are some lovely walks to explore in and around the area, including along the banks of the River Stour. The holiday home is just 200 metres from Baythorne Hall, where you’ll find a delightful collection of independent retailers selling local goods and produce.
The barn conversion is sleek and stylish, carefully blending contemporary furniture and design with an array of characterful original features. At the heart of the home is the kitchen/diner, where you’ll find ample space to set up the dog bed, as well as everything needed to whip up hearty meals for everyone. A large, wooden dining table takes centre stage and is the perfect spot to gather for family mealtimes after a day of exploring. In the evenings, retire to the inviting lounge, stretching out on the leather sofa to watch the Smart TV or read a book. At the far end of the barn are two elegant bedrooms, both with their en-suite facilities. Outside, the pup can amble around in the enclosed garden whilst you sip a sundowner on the patio. The property has private parking for two cars.
Visit the nearby town of Clare (4 miles), which boasts a fantastic range of shops and eateries, along with beautiful historic buildings and fascinating landmarks – be sure to follow the town trail with your furry sidekick, so as not to miss anything. Just outside the town is the beautiful Clare Castle and Country Park, with its network of waymarked walking routes and picturesque picnic spots. Days out from the cottage include Bury St Edmunds and Cambridge, both just over 20 miles away.
