Enjoying a peaceful location in the idyllic village of Harman’s Cross, this characterful studio-style lodge makes a delightful holiday retreat for couples exploring the glorious surroundings of the Isle of Purbeck. Providing cheery accommodation for two guests, the inviting hideaway also has ample space for a pair of four-pawed pals to join you as you explore the area’s spellbinding coastline, gorgeous beaches and historic towns. Featuring wooden beams and flooring, a high vaulted ceiling and a sweet garden, this cosy getaway is ideal for walkers, beach lovers and nature spotters seeking a tranquil base for experiencing a beautiful part of Dorset.

A gently sloping path leads to the entrance of this delightful bolthole, then through into the bright, spacious open-plan lounge/kitchenette/diner/bedroom. Set beneath a vaulted ceiling with traditional timber beams, the coastal-themed interior provides a lovely space to settle back and unwind. The lounge is at the heart of the room, with comfortable seating, a Smart TV, and a relaxing dining table to one side. The kitchenette has plenty of equipment and stands by the large windows offering a view over the garden. The sumptuous king-size bed is to the rear of the room, with a TV and access to a refreshing en-suite shower room. Outside, the picturesque garden has outdoor furniture, making it a lovely spot for dining alfresco with your pets playing on the small grassy area. Private off-road parking is available for one car.

Dogs are welcome to help you discover the historic Corfe Castle (2 miles) or take a trip by steam train to the Victorian seaside resort of Swanage (4 miles). Swanage has a dog-friendly beach and your pets will also be welcome along the Downs and in the popular Durlston Country Park, home of the historic Durlston Castle.

Lovely lodge in a peaceful location. Plenty to do locally and great for dog walks. The owners were lovely and very helpful. Have booked for next year!

Great cottage and the space was well laid out with everything you need. All cooking facilities like microwave, grill and oven were very quick. Good value for money. The owners were very pleasant and helpful. Great for our dog.

Just what we wanted - small and cosy and in an excellent location. Easy access to walks and bike rides right from the door, or quick drives to Swanage, Corfe Castle or the coastal villages. We really enjoyed our stay and would heartily recommend.

Lovely clean cosy lodge. Very pleased. Great for a few nights stay. Fab location and milk in the fridge was great. The enclosed garden was great to be able to let the dogs in without worrying about them escaping.

Stayed for a few days between Christmas and new year when it was pretty cold. So for a winter stay I would recommend bringing extra blankets. Very bijou, but sufficient for putting your head down after a days hiking or beach activities.

Ideally situated for couples visiting the area. All on one level, no stairs, off road parking. You do need to know how to operate a smart television with a firestick though. We went in winter so weren't able to benefit from sitting out in the little garden but it must be lovely to do so in summer, with a glass of local cider.

Lovely and peaceful, ideal location as the steam railway is just minutes away so you can walk and train back or train and have a drink at either Corfe or Swanage. The coast is within walking distance for some along with the best pub ever, the square and compass. No faults at all..

Not the easiest place to find. With a number of small sailing craft in the front garden the introduction to Lugger Lodge is confirmed as sea and sailing orientated which is beautifully reflected in the decor. The instructions for the cooker and TV are comprehensive. The settee and the bed are comfortable. The bathroom is fine with a nice shower aRead morend towels to hand. Outside is wooden fencing surrounding a sloping grass area which has a beautiful walnut tree right in the middle. There are a garden table and two metal chairs under the tree. Large fir trees abound in the area with numerous birds to hear and spot. Just off the main road to Swanage with two local filling stations nearby. Walking routes each way and the volunteer railway line a couple of hundred metres down the lane. A compact place for two people sharing a double bed. Hide

The property was compact but well equipped parking provided on site and near to railway station if you like trains. Only a short walk to a garage with SPA shop just off main road nut not noisey.

Lugger Lodge is a perfect accommodation for a couple wishing to explore the Purbeck area. Tim and April were very welcoming hosts and the lodge itself was really cozy and nicely decorated with all the equipment you need. The large sky window was wonderful to wake up to on the one sunny morning we had. We also enjoyed having our own private little gRead morearden which was very much appreciated by the dog.
