For a pet-friendly retreat with homely comfort at its core, look no further than this Suffolk escape. Accommodating six guests and two furry friends for tail-wagging good times, the property is perfect for families or friends seeking scenic walks and outdoor pursuits along the county’s dramatic coastline. Set in Walberswick – a charming village neighbouring the beloved tourist town of Southwold (2 miles via the passenger ferry) – you’ll find easy access to both countryside and coast. The local beach, just over a mile away, is pet-friendly, inviting doggos to splash in the sea and play fetch on the sand, with cafes, pubs, and shops just a short stroll away.

Spacious interiors make it easy to relax in this detached holiday home, with room to unwind without children or pups underfoot. Everyone can gather in the welcoming lounge, complete with a Smart TV and open fire – ideal for cosy nights in. A snug next door offers a quieter space to retreat, while the farmhouse-style kitchen serves as the heart of the home. The conservatory provides a light-filled dining area with garden views, and upstairs you'll find three restful bedrooms and a family bathroom. The large, enclosed lawn wraps around the property, giving Fido and Rover plenty of safe space to stretch their legs and chase their tails. Private parking for three cars is available just outside.

Head over to Southwold for a day of uninterrupted fun, exploring the pier, the wide promenade, and the shingle beach. Don’t miss the iconic lighthouse, and enjoy a bite to eat at the many pubs and cafes that welcome well-behaved pups. Between Walberswick and Southwold, enjoy scenic walking routes along the River Blyth (1 mile), or make your way along to Dunwich Beach (5.5 miles), spotting fantastic seabirds and wildlife as you go.

Had all the facilities you would want for a family stay. Decorated for us for Christmas which was a lovely touch. Location within Walberswick was great, we were able to throw away the car keys, and enjoy walking around the village and the beaches. The shops and pubs are all within easy reach, and popping over to Southwold on the local ferry was greRead moreat. Hide

A great location in the village and the house felt like home from home. We only stayed 2 nights but will return for a longer stay. House is very well equipped and I am sure the garden would be delightful for spending time in the summer. Lots to do within walking distance, deli, pubs, walks and general relaxation. Thank you.

Beautiful house and garden in a peaceful village setting. Facilities were excellent and all needs were catered for. We loved the style and furnishings of the house, it had a really comfortable 'family' feel to it. We had a brilliant week and would definitely stay again at Elm Gables!
