Great time at Saltwhistle Beach, the apartment was clean and all set up for us on arrival. The view from the rear of the property is fantastic, we never got bored of just sitting and watching the Boats and the River. We are planning to return very soon.

Great location on the beach and only a stones through away from pubs & town. Very comfortable place & clean & tidy. Car space very tight so only small cars will fit. Location of the property is second to none, this year at high tide water almost lapping at patio wall. Weather was not as good as it could have been but no fault of the property. The property is compact and well equipped with the best views over the back beach. Ideal for a couple or a young family as it gives the option of staying put if the weather is good with everything needed within easy walking distance. Alternatively its ideally sited as a base for visiting all the attractions Devon has to offer.

The cottage is perfect for 2 people and a dog. Having the beach so close is fabulous, and we were fortunate that the weather was dry and sunny. The shower, hot water and appliances worked well - cooker and microwave oven were both easy to use. Great views across the estuary to Shaldon with a few ships in the port to add interest, and an excellentRead more pub with plenty of outdoor seating a short distance along the beach. The parking place is tight, but we had been prepared in advance! Hide

The cottage is in a lovely location right on the beach but that does mean it is not very private. The parking is very tight you need a very small car

Wonderful cottage in a superb location for everything. Stairs rather steep with a sharp turn up the top, which might be a problem for someone with mobility issues, especially as the bathroom is downstairs. Otherwise 10/10 for everything else.

We had a wonderful holiday staying at Saltwhistle beach. We will definitely return. It was very clean and well equipped. We were very impressed with the safety features in the cottage. The stairs are quite steep but there are plenty of bannisters and grab rails and a light which comes on automatically when you have to get up in the night to use theRead more downstairs bathroom. We have had a pretty rough six months healthwise so this holiday was just want we needed. We spent most of the time sitting and relaxing looking at the amazing view. I will miss it so much. There is always something happening on the water to see. We had some lovely meals at the local pubs nearby and had a lovely day in Shaldon using the little ferry to go over there. We only used the car once and my little car fitted perfectly in the car parking space. We will return! Hide

Saltwhistle Beach is a truly wonderful place to stay! You are right on Teignmouth's back beach, with a view all the way up the river to Dartmoor. You could just sit on the patio all day and never be bored, watching the tide come in and out, big ships arriving and departing at the port, rowing teams and sailing boats going by - there is never a dullRead more moment. And you are treated to the last of the evening sun every night as it sets over the moors. There is a lovely big open-plan space over the whole of the ground floor, with an excellent kitchen, dining area and living room all looking out onto the water. Upstairs is a cosy bedroom where you feel safely tucked away. The place is really well equipped and everything you could need is provided. Local pubs, restaurants and food huts are pretty much on the doorstep, or you can just step off the patio and have your own picnic on the beach.
