The cottage was in a great location and with parking that was very handy. Underfloor heating was a lovely touch and we enjoyed the log burner. A great cottage for our family of 4 for the week.

Cosy comfortable hideaway within the village, short wander from the castle, shops, bars. Just dont expect the internet to work with its cellular network modem in an area of low cellular coverage.

The wifi in the property was completely unworkable. The router is connected to a mobile phone signal which was non existent. Our children have exams when we return and some of their revision requires the internet. We had to leave our holiday early so they could do revision at home. This is completely unacceptable for a high grade property. We stay Read morein Bamburgh every year and we will definitely not be returning to this property. The wifi needs to be sorted out. Hide

This property is squeezed into the driveway of a large property. The rusty old table on the driveway is not what I understand to be a patio., the lounge is austere, nothing homely and the cushions on the sofa gave up long ago. Up the steep staircase and the space is more akin to a static caravan with low ceilings (attic conversion) and very tight eRead moren suites, in our opinion not suitable for 5 people. Many issues were repeated mentioned in maintenance book but strangely no visitors comments book... By huge coincidence we met a couple in the restaurant who had stayed ion the cottage 3 years ago, they said they would never stay at a holiday rental after that experience and went home early, as we did. Windy Edge Cottage is a beautiful and comfortable cottage in a wonderful area. The views of Bamburgh Castle are magnificent, and the whole area was unspoiled and easy to explore. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very well equipped and we enjoyed a very comfortable week there. Only issue was that the windows were very stiff and we couldn't opRead moreen them, and the Wifi wasn't the best, but as we were on holiday and wanted to get away from it all, that wasn't always a bad thing! It was our first visit to Northumberland and would definitely come back. Hide
