Set in the heart of Breckland and bordering a golf course, this converted barn is tailor-made for families, friends and their canine companions. The thoughtful design blends countryside charm with modern luxury and comes complete with a bubbling hot tub and an expansive private garden for ball games with Fido.

The open-plan living space is perfect for gathering together after long walks, with underfloor heating ensuring a warm welcome for tired paws. The sleek kitchen, with an island and bar seating, is well-equipped for preparing family meals, and after dinner, relax in the lounge area on the L-shaped sofa while catching up on your favourite shows. You can also watch "Nest-Flix" – live HD footage of nesting owls, kestrels and other local wildlife, streamed to a tablet provided. The ground floor has three king-size bedrooms, each with an en-suite shower room and Smart TV. Two rooms feature zip-and-link beds (which can be made into twins on request at time of booking), perfect for family flexibility. Upstairs, the mezzanine level houses a fourth king-size bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, accessed via a striking spiral staircase. Accessibility is thoughtfully catered for, with wheelchair ramps, shower chairs and other supportive features available. While you enjoy the luxurious seven-person hot tub or toast marshmallows around the fire pit, your four-legged friends can explore the enclosed 0.75-acre paddock. Temperature-controlled kennels with CCTV are available if you’re planning a day out without the hound. There are also 11 acres of rewilded land to explore and don't forget to collect some fresh eggs from the free-range chickens. Equine companions are also welcome, with DIY livery available by arrangement. Private parking for four cars is provided.

Thetford Forest is less than 10 miles away, offering endless trails for walkies, while Watton (1 mile) provides handy shops for all your self-catering essentials and maybe a treat or two for your pup! Head to Swaffham for bustling markets and scenic views, or take a vintage train ride from Dereham (10 miles), where furry friends are welcome to join you on board. For a change of scene, Norwich is under 30 miles away, perfect for a day trip with plenty of dog-friendly cafes and gastro-pubs to uncover.

We absolutely loved our stay at Owl Barn. 7 of us stayed here for a long weekend for my sisters 40th birthday. Jenny and Steve have literally thought of everything to accommodate their guests. This is a wonderful cottage, and it was lovely to chat with Jenny and Steve. They have thought of everything - hot tub towels (no need to bring our own), dog welcome packs (we took 3 dogs and they can accommodate up to 4), kitchen essentials (kitchen towel/coffee/coffee pods/tea/sugar/washing up liquid/dishwasher tabs) and bathroom products such asRead more hand soap/shampoo/conditioner/shower gel. The cottage itself is beautiful and HUGE. The 4 bedrooms are all a great size and superbly decorated. Although a little chilly (March) we did brave sitting outside for a while, and also made good use of the large hot tub. Ample parking for 4 cars, and the paddock!!!! It took the dogs a couple of days to recover from running around in such a huge paddock. The Owl Barn is an excellent holiday base for a multigenerational break. The owners have thought of everything in terms of facilities and equipment for adults, children and not forgetting the dogs. A quiet location with easy access to local attractions eg. zoo, forest and Roarr.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely barn conversion, it was very well equipped inside and out. The hot tub was wonderful and the enormous enclosed field was ideal for the dogs to run around without any worries as to where they were. The kitchen had everything you could wish for and more. The furnishings were of a high standard including Read morea massive smart television. Local shops, food establishments and supermarket all within easy reach. The barn conversion was one of the best holiday properties I have ever stayed in. It was clean and very well presented, with helpful onsite owners. The hot tub was great. Only scored it down one on location because Im a beach lover, but, there is so much to do there what with games/electronic entertainment provided by the owner, the hot tub, the wiRead moreldlife walks on the owners land, and the huge garden, you may not find time to go out anyway. We were at Owl Barn for a week! It was amazing - secure area for dogs - even a welcome pack for them. The hot tub was enjoyed daily. The accommodation itself was clean comfortable fully equipped spacious - absolutely nothing to fault. Bird box cameras were an added bonus which I loved - there was a folder documenting owl barns journey from beginniRead moreng to where it is now. Great living accommodation, comfortable and generously equipped. The large secure field, walk and dog bin make this a particularly great place to stay with dogs. We all loved the bird box cameras even in October (we saw a roosting blue tit and a squirrel!) The local pub is quite jolly too. Middle bedroom a little small but beds are very comfy.

Owl Barn cottage was just perfect, everything had been thought about and provided. We had a wonderful stay with family and three dogs, and the enclosed field attached to the property was perfect for the dogs. Whilst the dogs had a field we had a wonderful hot tub to enjoy. All in all a perfect holiday.

A beautiful, well appointed barn conversion set in spacious grounds. Perfect for 4 couples sharing or a family get together. Well maintained.
