For a group holiday with up to three doggie chums, stay at this delightful cottage just 200 metres from the Kent shoreline. It’s in a peaceful residential area with a dog-friendly pub 0.5 miles away (dogs allowed in the bar) and 1.5 miles from the lively village of Dymchurch. Start each day with walkies along the coast then take day trips to nearby towns like quaint Folkestone (8.5 miles) and historical Rye (16.5 miles) for a restful break in southern England.
The cottage is located at the end of a long gravel driveway. Once inside, a mostly green decor and thoughtful details create a welcoming, homely atmosphere for you and your furry friends. The property’s layout makes it easy for your group to spread out, with a separate lounge, well-equipped kitchen and dining area, each with its own inviting vibe. The dining room has French doors opening to the garden and includes a piano and a handy office corner for if anyone needs to attend to business. Three of the five bedrooms are downstairs – two king-size with French doors that lead directly into the expansive garden and a snug single. The two bathrooms are also both on the ground floor. Upstairs, you’ll find a second single bedroom and a third king-size with zip-and-link beds, both set under the eaves with sloped ceilings. Outside, the fully enclosed garden has a spacious lawn, a furnished patio, and a play set featuring swings and a slide. Adults can sip tea in the dining area on the patio while keeping an eye on little ones (furry and human). There is private parking for six cars.
Dymchurch has shops, an amusement park where you and your pets can watch the children enjoying themselves on the rides, and plenty of dining options. Take everyone on a nostalgic steam train ride on the charming Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway – the route cuts across Romney Marsh towards Dungeness (10.5 miles), a striking headland that’s known as the UK’s only desert.
