Cottage is a little gem. Clean, well equipped and very comfortable. Would love to know what mattresses were on the beds as the best sleep I have ever had. Located in a beautiful are and close by many great places to visit. Perfect place for a relaxing peaceful break.

This is a lovely little cottage in a picturesque village with good links to the A1 and A66. It was spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable. It had everything you need. A nice little seating area outside was great. The parking is spacious once you are in, would recommend reversing in so its easier to get out as its straight onto the roadRead more through the village. Cottage was very clean and beds were comfy. Welcome pack would have been nice especially as we arrived on a Sunday. Garden and conservatory furniture wasnt comfortable. We were only informed couple days before we arrived that Dogs not allowed upstairs. If we had known this we wouldnt have booked.

A lovely cottage in a peaceful village with a good pub 5 minutes walk away. Excellent for dogs both the cottage and the pub and village green. Owner was very welcoming. Would highly recommend.

Perfect location for getting out to explore the surrounding area. The cottage has everything we needed for a home away from home feel. Will definitely stay here again. Directions from the owner to find the property and access the keys was well received informed and he was quick to respond to questions I had before arriving.

We had a lovely stay at Lilac Cottage, the village is beautiful, set in fabulous countryside. The house is very comfortable, very well appointed in every way. Absolutely no criticisms, well be back! Paul the owner is next door, unobtrusive but available if need be which is a great combination.

Lilac Cottage was a super place to stay. Everything was spotlessly clean, of lovely quality and really comfortable. Aldbrough St John is very picturesque, peacefull and friendly. A great place to explore the Dales with beautiful Richmond and Reeth very close by.

We loved our time at Lilac Cottage in Aldbrough St. John. The cottage was very well presented and had many areas to enjoy or escape the weather. The people we met around the village and in the pub were also very nice.

A lovely homely cottage with enclosed garden ideal for our small dog. Several family seating areas to choose from, and comfortable beds. The surrounding area is beautiful. Paul is very helpful. Would highly recommend.

What a beautiful cottage, set in an idyllic village. We loved our stay. The area was perfect, with the village green, playground, beck and pub on the doorstep. So quiet but perfectly situated for exploring the area. The beds were comfortable and we slept very well. A beautiful house in a lovely location. We had a fantastic holiday as house is situated in an ideal place to enable visits to so many places in the area. House is very clean, beautifully furnished and the owner is very responsive but unobtrusive - great communication throughout.

We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at Lilac Cottage. The cottage itself was very comfortable, and beautifully presented, with everything we needed for a peaceful break. Its clear a lot of care has gone into making it a welcoming and well-equipped holiday home. One of the highlights for us was how dog-friendly it was. Good points are the location. very nice village. beds very comfortable. Bad points advertised with welcome pack, only 1 pint of milk in fridge. no coffee machine as advertised. cooking utensils well sparse , 1 small pan and no bowels for preparing food. all garden furniture either broken or held together with cable ties. no mop for the mop bucket tRead morehat would fit its handle. we had a good stay as we know the area well but was disappointed with not being able to sit out on an evening as it was very hot on our week there. I had my own dishwasher tablets with me as non were supplied. No comments book in the property the owner was away so no contact could be made with Peter to discuses the problems with property. the living room furniture is very uncomfortable to sit for any length of time. A beautiful cottage in a beautiful picturesque village, served with an excellent pub- great food, beer & friendly service. Sadly they only serve food Thursday Friday Saturdays & Sunday lunch- but when they do - WOW! The cottage has a great modern kitchen diner, a cosy living room with modern log burner. Both double bedrooms are clean, spacious & sRead moreerved with an adequate shower room fed by a combi boiler. The garden is a nice sun soaked spot to sit in & is secure for any dogs, unless yours will jump a 3ft wall! This is a great base located just a few minutes walk to the pub & huge village green with a babbling stream to the side, the village easily accessed just a short drive from the A66. Richmond being a short 10 minute drive, Barnard castle around 20 minutes & Raby castle about the same. There are some nice walks for you to explore with or without a dog in the village & the nearby towns/villages. Definitely recommend this cottage & location. Hide

Lilac cottage is beautiful, full of character and charm. The house is very clean and comfortable. We had a slight issue with plumbing but the owner Paul, quickly dealt with this. The house is set in a small friendly idyllic village. Would definitely recommend visiting the village pub, its unfortunate it is only open at the later end of the week.

Weve just had a wonderful week at the beautifully decorated and very well equipped Lilac Cottage. It was everything you could wish for and Paul the owner was on hand to ensure we were happy. Beautiful cottage in a peaceful location. Perfect to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. Fabulous surroundings and countryside on your doorstep. The hosts were very welcoming to us and our four legged friend! The garden was secure for a small dog.
