Long Barn Cottages

Located in the glorious Welsh countryside, this duo of dog-friendly cottages is wonderful for a scenic holiday with your canine companions. It’s right on the just off the beautiful Glyndwr Way National Trail, opening up excellent walking opportunities – or you can simply absorb the lovely landscapes from the comfort of your holiday home or a local pub garden. The dwellings have space for nine guests and are part of a working farm, so you can even bring your own horses (please confirm with the owner for livery availability and costs).

These two traditional cottages are side by side, so you’ll always be close to other members of the larger group. Each has its own kitchen. The larger of the two, a three-bedroom property, has a warm and cosy lounge/diner with gorgeous exposed brickwork downstairs, along with a twin zip-and-link bedroom with an en-suite wet room. Upstairs, you’ll find a family bedroom with a double and single bed, plus an additional single room. The second cottage also has a welcoming lounge and two bedrooms upstairs – two zip-and-link super-king bedrooms and a shower room. Both cottages share access to a lovely enclosed terraced garden which is ideal for relaxing with your dogs. With a hot tub available to book, your evenings will be filled with relaxation while your furry friends explore safely within the fenced space. Additional dogs are welcome to join you by prior arrangement. Please note: since this is on a working farm, some areas may have steep external steps or uneven terrain, so do keep an eye on where those paws might be going! There is off-road parking for two cars.

You’ll be right on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, so there’s plenty of wilderness to discover with your pets trotting on ahead. Visit local sites like the Rhos Fiddle Nature Reserve (4.5 miles), which is a gorgeous heathland hilltop with wading birds, while Clun Castle (10 miles) offers historical insights with its dramatic riverside ruins (please keep dogs on leads). The market town of Knighton (10 miles) is fab for lunches out.

First Cottage - 

• 3 bedrooms – 1 with double and single bed, 1 single, 1 twin (can be made as a super-king on request-please confirm on booking your preferred bed make up)
• 3 bathrooms – 1 bathroom with corner bath, and WC, 1 shower room with a WC, 1 ground-floor wet room with shower, and a WC
• Electric hob and oven, fridge with icebox, microwave and dishwasher and extra fridge.
• Access to shared laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer
• Cast iron electric stove in living room
• Smart TV
• Patio to rear and side with garden furniture
• Enclosed mature terraced cottage gardens
• Wood-fired hot tub available to be booked in advance with the owner, at an additional cost
• Off-road parking for 2 cars
• Pub 0.4 miles, shop and pub restaurant 2 miles. 
• DIY Livery on site for guests bringing their own horses, please check availability and additional costs with the owner before booking. 
• Arrival: 16:00 onwards

Second Cottage - 

• 2 bedrooms – 1 super-king and 1 twin (either room can be twin or super-king-please confirm on booking your preferred bed make up)
• 2 bathrooms – 1 shower room with shower, and WC, 1 ground-floor bathroom with bath, and WC
• Kitchen with an electric range cooker with oven and hob, induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher.
• Cast iron electric stove in living room
• TV and Blu-ray DVD player
• Patio to rear and side with garden furniture
• Enclosed mature terraced cottage gardens
• Wood-fired hot tub available to be booked in advance with the owner, at additional cost
• Arrival: 16:00 onwards
• Departure: before 10:00
