Located in the Cumbrian market town of Longtown just a whisker from the Scottish border, this contemporary cottage is sure to set tails wagging. Six humans and two playful pups have the run of this spacious abode, which features an open-plan living area, far-reaching country views, a grassy garden and a hot tub beneath the stars.

Situated next to the owner’s home yet enjoying its own privacy, this is a light and airy property laid out on a single level. Neutral hues and solid wooden furnishings provide a soothing ambiance, while cosy throws and carefully chosen artworks add a homely touch. The spacious kitchen has ample room for preparing meals for your pack, along with space for food and drinks bowls and a breakfast table. Next door, a family dining room invites convivial mealtimes, and extends into a light-filled lounge with sofas for relaxing and double doors leading to a furnished balcony with country views. When it’s time to let sleeping dogs lie, take your pick from a master double with an en-suite shower room, and a second double and a twin room which share use of the family bathroom. The entertaining space continues outside with stairs and a ramp leading down to a hot tub and outdoor dining area, and an enclosed grassy garden where children and dogs can play safely. Private, off-road parking is available for two cars.

With all the essential amenities available in Longtown and just over the border in Greta Green (4 miles), this is a great base for exploring the area. There’s plenty for history-loving hounds and their owners, with Carlisle Castle just 8.5 miles away and easy access to Hadrian’s Wall, a 73-mile structure and walkway with multiple forts and turrets to explore. Nature lovers will find plenty to amuse them too, with Solway Firth starting around 4 miles away, a hotspot for wading birds and wildfowl.

What a fabulous place to stay. Great secure garden for our dogs. The cottage had everything we needed and more. Loved the big fridge freezer, always good to have. Loved the view from the lounge, seen a barn owl a few times in the evening. Hot tub was fantastic and very private. We had a lovely relaxing Christmas at Holme View Cottage. We love the space in the cottage. The views where lovely and the Hot tub a dream. The hosts were amenable and helpful. We enjoyed what Longtown had to offer

A beautifully clean and well equipped cottage. If anything it was far better than we expected, especially the washer, dryer, air fryer, boiling water tap and huge fridge freezer. Lovely spacious bungalow with lots of room for us (six adults and two dogs). The welcome pack, including fresh milk and flowers were greatly appreciated too.
