This idyllic holiday home for two humans and one hound is just outside the village of Ipplepen, surrounded by the beautiful South Devon countryside. The area is a haven for dog walkers, with routes directly from the property and easy access to Dartmoor National Park (13.5 miles) and the South West Coast Path (4 miles). After a day of adventure, warm your toes and paws by the wood burner or enjoy an evening dip in the onsite swimming pool.
The stone cottage is decorated in a traditional style, with wooden furniture and neutral decor to compliment the property’s original features. On the ground floor, a welcoming lounge/diner awaits with comfortable seating arranged around a TV. Relax here, after a long walk, with a cup of tea in hand and Rover stretched out in front of the wood burner. Positioned next to the window is a cute dining table for sharing romantic dinners for two. The separate, galley kitchen is equipped with everything needed to rustle up hearty meals using fresh, local ingredients. Upstairs, set under a beamed ceiling, is a gorgeous king-size bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. Outside, sip a glass of wine at the bistro table in the courtyard as you admire the countryside views. This area is fully enclosed for your canine chum. You’ll also have access to an onsite, shared indoor swimming pool and games room. The property has private parking for two cars.
The colourful market town of Newton Abbot is just 3.5 miles away, and offers a good range of woof-welcoming shops and eateries. The town also hosts a number of outdoor markets throughout the month. Heading inland, you’ll soon reach the edge of Dartmoor National Park. This is the perfect place to fully switch off and embrace nature, whilst exploring iconic beauty spots such as Hound Tor and Haytor (17 miles). South Devon has some fantastic, paw-friendly beaches, highlights of which include Goodrington Sands in Paignton (6.5 miles) and Slapton Sands near Kingsbridge (20 miles).
