Have a truly memorable break on the magnificent Isle of Purbeck when you stay at this charming cottage in Swanage. Sleeping six guests, the four-bedroom holiday home welcomes happy hounds with a big wag of the tail. The three-storey property is just 0.5 miles from the seaside town’s dog-friendly Monkey Beach and is in a great location for families and friends hoping to follow a section of the South West Coast Path.

Open the front door of the charming retreat to let your canine companion wander in. Find yourselves in the welcoming lounge, where you can rest weary paws and feet in front of a good film on the Smart TV. The kitchen has ample space for dishing up doggy dinners and is well equipped for whipping up tasty human meals too. Open the door on sunny days so your chum can amble out into the courtyard garden. Sit down to eat at the dining room table or play a board game as he steals a quick 40 winks. There is a handy utility room downstairs for whizzing through damp dog towels. Give soft ears a last scratch before bed then head upstairs to a double bedroom and a single on the first floor. The family bathroom with a lovely, freestanding bath, is also here. A second double and single bedroom, both, with sloping ceilings, are on the top floor. Enjoy sunny afternoons out in the pretty stone courtyard with your contented canine by your side. Here there is a patio, with furniture, up one step. Parking is on the street, subject to availability.

Venture 4 miles to the National Trust’s Studland Bay, where your pal can leave pawprints on the sand at any time. Take him to Corfe Castle (5.5 miles), travelling there on the pup-friendly Swanage Railway.

A great cottage with good amount of space and facilities. Good location - quiet - but close to town centre with parking. Everything you could want really. Our friends were very envious!

A lovely quaint cottage. A fairly central location with a short walk into town. Parking is ok although I would recommend reversing up into the street as it is a dead end with no where to turn around and is slightly steep. As a note there are a couple of steps within the property and stairs are a little steep just if you have anyone with mobility isRead moresues. All in all a nice cottage accommodating 4-6 people and reasonable value for money. Hide

We found the house spotless, comfortable and well equipped with a simple to use oven (we've rented places where you need a Phd to operate it!!). The characterful house was closer to Swanage centre than we first thought. We were grateful for the parking right outside with space for both cars, as Swanage can be very difficult for parking. Lovely clean and homely cottage. Really close to the town centre and beach and a really short walk to the nature reserve for our dog. Really happy memories made and will definitely be back to this property!

A lovely cottage that is ideally situated, a walking distance from the town and beach. The beds were comfortable and the shower was very good, although you have to step into a high sided bath to get to it. Unfortunately, we had to contact the owners to get the cleaners in to clean the kitchen, and hopefully this won't re-occur for future visitors.Read more Apart from that we had lovely holiday with our dog. A dog walking area is nearby, but you have to keep the dog on a lead as the grassed area is on a mobile home site and that nature area is occupied by cows. Hide

Our third visit to Milkmaids for the start of the summer holidays was as enjoyable as Christmas and Easter. The location for us with dogs and grand children is perfect for walking in the nature reserve and down to the town and beach. Cottage is perfect for us.

We stayed at Milkmaids Cottage in Swanage for a couple of nights. The accommodation suited us well, as we were a group of two couples, two single people, and a small dog. Since there were 6 of us, it was a bit crowded if we all wanted to sit in the living room at once. The cottage is about a 10-minute walk into the centre, and there is a pub, a SpaRead morer and a Chinese restaurant within a minute's stroll. On the whole, it suited our needs, but what we found difficult to accept was the level of cleanliness. The lounge had crumbs on the wooden floor, and the kitchen floor was also filthy; it needed a good sweep and wash. The cooking utensils didnt appear to be hygienic, and some handles had what seemed to be mildew on themsome of the plates and glasses were also not properly cleaned before being stacked in the cupboard. The kitchen cupboards had dirty finger marks on the inside. The oven shelves were brown and needed a clean. The downstairs utility room had a Henry vacuum and a broom. This broom was full of hairy dust, as was the suction area of the Henry vacuum. Yuk. There was only one tea towel and not enough toilet rolls for six people. There was no hand towel in the downstairs toilet/utility room. The upstairs bathroom ventilation fan did not seem to work; then, upon closer inspection, it was completely clogged with crud. The wooden furniture in the bedrooms was also dusty. Overall, we left it cleaner than when we found it. What let this cottage down completely was its cleanliness, which was nowhere near good enough. We really enjoyed our stay at Milkmaids. The property was comfortable and ideally located for a walk into the town. Parking was easy right outside the property. We would definitely stay again.

Good location and pretty terraced family cottage. The layout worked well for a large family, especially upstairs with good sized bedrooms and the large family bathroom. Private road was safe for small children and the access to grass and nature reserve was pwrfect with gogs in tow.
