Set in Mid Wales and surrounded by nature, this 17th-century stone-built cottage and a separate converted barn with characterful, traditional features and a hot tub are perfect for a tranquil countryside escape. Up to seven guests and two four-legged friends can enjoy a getaway with trips to the nearby Cardigan Bay, Brecon Beacons National Park and rural Welsh towns.
As you enter the barn, you’ll notice the original wooden beams, period antiques and airy spaces. Head into the neutral-toned open-plan living area to find a lounge with a wood burner inside the chimney surrounded by comfortable sofas and patterned soft furnishings. Inside the farmhouse-style kitchen/diner is a fitted L-shaped kitchen unit with wooden worktops and a central dining table on top of the slate flooring. Upstairs you’ll find a bathroom plus the first bedroom – a four-poster king-size bedroom. Inside the cottage is a cosy lounge with a wooden beamed ceiling, wood burner and red hues throughout. Also on the ground floor is a smaller farmhouse-style kitchen, a shower room and an additional dining area with a breakfast table and an armchair. Upstairs you’ll find a bathroom plus three bedrooms – a king-size, twin and single. Outside is an enclosed garden with a patio, BBQ and hot tub. Nestled among charming cottages, a lush lawn unfurls, leading to a delightful play area. Here, children find joy in the simple pleasures of swings and a slide, where laughter blends with the gentle rustle of leaves. Children must be supervised at all times while using the play area. Private parking is available for two cars.
During your holiday in the countryside of Llwynygroes, pack your beach towels and head to Cardigan Bay – go for a dip at the secluded Cwmtydu Beach (20.5 miles) or Cei Bach Beach (16 miles). Sniff out the nearby traditional seaside towns of New Quay and Aberaeron (both within 18.5 miles). Lead the way to adventure in the wild Brecon Beacons National Park (28 miles).
Guests are kindly asked to bring their own bed linen and towels for their stay. For added convenience, clean bed linen and towels are available in the trunk of each cottage should you wish to use them.
