This impressive Highland retreat is in the charming village of Tomintoul, in the north of Cairngorms National Park. The property sleeps eight guests and two waggy-tailed chums, and is perfect for family get-togethers and holidays with friends. The surrounding area is a paradise for walkers and four-pawed explorers, with routes to hike in the Cairngorm Mountains and along the Speyside Way. For shopping and eating out, the vibrant tourist town of Aviemore is 26 miles away.
Inside the spacious family home, a warm welcome awaits. The property has been decorated and furnished in a contemporary style, with little Highland touches throughout. The large kitchen has hard floors and ample space for the dog beds, as well as direct access to the enclosed outdoor area. You’ll also find all the equipment and worktop space needed to cater for a large group. Enjoy informal dining at the breakfast bar, or gather in the gorgeous dining room for memorable mealtimes together. In the evenings, unwind in the cosy lounge, where you can watch the Smart TV and the pack can toast their paws by the roaring wood burner. Completing the ground floor is a utility room and a king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room. Upstairs, three immaculate bedrooms await (one with an en-suite shower room), along with the family bathroom. Please note, the upstairs bedrooms have sloping ceilings and you may experience restricted head height in some areas. Outside, the expansive garden features a fully enclosed lawn where the hounds can play, as well as a patio area for al fresco entertaining. The garage has been converted into a fun games room, with air hockey, table tennis, and darts. It’s also the ideal place to store outdoor equipment, such as bikes and skis. There is private parking available for four cars.
Tomintoul has a picturesque square and high street with a good selection of local shops and independent eateries. On your doorstep you’ll find the wild and remote Glenlivet Estate, where you can sniff and explore the waymarked walking trails through the glens, woods, and heather-clad hills. The estate offers a whole host of outdoor activities too, including mountain biking, fishing, and skiing. The Moray Coast is also within touring distance (just over 30 miles), with its dramatic coast paths, secluded beaches, and picturesque fishing villages.
