This one-of-a-kind dwelling is ideal for solo travellers and couples seeking a dog-friendly spot for a quiet getaway. It’s a shepherd''s-hut-turned-holiday-home located in a serene location surrounded by the soul-soothing landscapes of Exmoor National Park – excellent for nature lovers and energetic pups. The nearby village of Withypool (0.5 miles) has a quaint pet-friendly pub, a village shop and a tearoom perched on the River Barle.

Cute, colourful and quirky, this stylish hut is designed with cosiness and comfort in mind. Wood-panelled walls, a gently curved ceiling and tasteful artwork all contribute to the rustic elegance. Inside, you’ll have a snug living space complete with a wood burner – perfect for curling up with your four-legged friend after a day of adventures. Food prep is easy thanks to a well-equipped mini kitchen. The pull-down double bed on the right-hand side sets you up for a restful night’s sleep, and there’s a walk-in shower for your morning wash. Outside, a pretty garden filled with wildflowers awaits – along with a swinging day bed for blissful afternoon naps with your pet nearby. On warm summer evenings, fire up the charcoal BBQ and tuck into dinner under the stars with your pup by your side. Private parking is available for one car.

With breathtaking moors right on your doorstep, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to walking trails, including the enchanting Tarr Steps (4.5 miles). The nearby villages of Dulverton and Porlock are both within 10 miles, offering more dog-friendly spots, craft shops and places to dine. For a day trip, the picturesque villages of Lynton and Lynmouth (16.5 miles) are a fab option – take in the spectacular views from the Valley of Rocks (17.5 miles) or hop on the Cliff Railway, the world’s steepest water-powered funicular, for a fun experience you can share with your furry companion.

Everything has been carefully thought about so as to maximise the space and comfort of the hut. Arrival bread and apples were a lovely surprise. The glass panel above the bed offers a lovely opportunity to lie in comfort beneath the stars. Definitely somewhere I want and will return to.

Beautiful shepherd's hut and location. Attention to detail inside was amazing. The welcome pack and additional items provided was the best we've had. There was also a welcome pack for our dog which was a lovely touch.
