This is a wonderful cottage; the location is perfect for exploring the area and for access to the Lakes. We had a wonderful week of weather, and we made the most of the garden and BBQs. The cottage had everything we needed, and it was very comfortable. I would recommend this cottage to family and friends; we hope to be back.

Lovely, quaint cottage in an ideal location for exploring the Southern Lakes. The sheltered garden is also a bonus for children and dogs and great to have outdoor furniture provided. Well equipped kitchen with a dining area big enough for all occasions. Would highly recommend the cottage to friends and family.

We really enjoyed our stay at Ashwood cottage, it was a wet week so coming back to all the comforts of home after long muddy but fantastic walks meant such a lot. All the rooms are very comfortably furnished and the kitchen has all you need to cook well at home. Lunch at Heft was outstanding and on the doorstep.

Great little cottage for a family of 5 and a dog. Its close to lake Windermere and other small walks but still able to get to some other great walks and towns. Very comfy lounge to relax in and facilities. Well kitted out cottage.

A beautifully furnished cottage. Its a great base for exploring some stunning parts of the Lake District- remoteness of location did mean we had to drive to be able to go for a walk as few pavements and amenities nearby (we had a baby and dogs). Owner was incredibly helpful and approachable, did all he could to ensure a good stay. We found the heatRead moreing difficult to figure out but did make use of the log burning fire in the lounge. Kitchen was well equipped and cottage generally very comfortable. Though it says designated parking- we did have some trouble with this as neighbours parked outside the front of the cottage each day. There are places to park nearby, so wasnt a huge issue. Garden is enclosed and pretty, not huge for dogs but a nice place to sit out. Overall, would recommend as a comfortable and beautifully furnished base in the countryside. Hide

Lovely cottage, with everything you would need. The decking was a perfect sun trap for an early evening drink, and Id highly recommend Heft just five minutes away for food and drink.
