This attractive holiday home boasts an idyllic, countryside setting on the edge of the Peak District National Park. The property, which sleeps eight guests and two pups, is in the pretty, Derbyshire village of Millthorpe. You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to dog walks in the area, with nearby highlights including Mam Tor, The Monsal Trail and Curbar Edge.
The stone property has a delicate, country-cottage style, with neutral paintwork, pretty soft furnishings, and rustic original features. Inside, hang up coats and dog leads in the hallway, before heading through to the bright and inviting lounge. Relax here on the comfortable seating to watch TV or read a book, or challenge your fellow guests to a game of pool or table football. In summer months, throw open the patio doors and allow the woofers to wander in and out to the garden. The separate kitchen/diner is equipped with everything needed for a self-catering holiday including a large, farmhouse-style dining table to seat everyone. Upstairs, four tastefully decorated bedrooms await, including a family room and a bunk bedroom. The super-king-size bedroom has an en-suite shower room and there’s also a family bathroom on this level. Please note, the first floor has sloping ceilings and you may experience restricted head height in some areas. Outside, your four-pawed pals will have plenty of space to charge around on the vast lawn, whilst you enjoy an al fresco dinner on the patio. Private parking is available for three cars.
The historic market town of Bakewell, 9 miles away, makes a lovely day out. Potter amongst its historic buildings and through its picturesque courtyards or stride out for a dog walk along the banks of the River Wye. The town has a great range of independent eateries, many of which serve Bakewell’s iconic pudding. There are some excellent, woof-welcoming attractions within easy reach, including Chatsworth House (7.5 miles) and the Heights of Abraham (16 miles).
