Great for a peaceful holiday, lots to explore by foot, public transport or car. A bit of a uneven lane leading to the cottage which is set near a brook at the bottom of a picturesque valley, views from every window. Everything you needed was supplied.

We had a wonderful and tranquil 3 night break at the cottage. It truly feels like a home from home and is so well equipped. The thoughtful touches, especially the goodie bag for our Cavapoo Teddy, were really appreciated. The views from every window are beautiful, and the setting is so peaceful. We came for a quiet, relaxing break and it was exaRead morectly what we needed. Cosy evenings by the log fire and the sound of birds throughout the day made it even more special. We were only there for a short time so stayed local, the surrounding area was just so beautiful we didnt feel the need to go further to be honest. No matter which direction you walked, the scenery was stunning and the location is just perfectly placed. We also found the Morrisons Daily was only around a 30 minute walk away. There was also really helpful information in the folder about nearby locations and places further afield. If wed stayed longer we would have loved to visit Hebden Bridge or Haworth, but we were very content just staying local as it was perfect. Christina the host was also lovely and very easy to communicate with and also gave us a layer check out which was greatly appreciated. Overall, a truly peaceful and lovely stay and will be happily recommended to our friends and family and we hope to return ourselves in the future. Hide

Great accommodation and the owner has thought of everything down to the last detail. The owner contacted us via email and WhatsApp to ensure that everything was okay. We had a lovely welcome pack and a personalised one for our dog Milo, which was very kind. The location was delightful, a lovely village and beautiful walks. A great stay.

Brook View Cottage is cosy, comfortable and in a very peaceful setting. The owner, Christina, is very friendly and helpful, as are the few neighbours. As others have mentioned, the road down to it is pretty bumpy and must be taken slowly. Once youre there, however, you can leave your car parked up for most of the time. The Lord Nelson pub is only fRead moreive minutes walk away and serves the best pint of Landlord youll ever drink. Sadly it no longer serves meals but a bit of a longer walk (45mins) in the opposite direction takes you the The Crossroads Inn which does great food. There are no shops in Luddenden but another fairly short walk gets you to Luddenden Foot with supermarket, Pharmacy and Post Office. Just past that is the Rochdale Canal. On the canal path one direction takes you to Sowerby Bridge - the other to Mytholmroyd where you can carry on walking to Hebden Bridge or cheat and take the train there (one stop). In the car, Halifax is not far away and on the way youll pass The Spring Head, no longer a pub but an excellent restaurant with Farm shop underneath. Hide
