This quirky holiday home is in the charming village of Goodleigh, surrounded by the breathtaking North Devon countryside. Sleeping three guests and one waggy-tailed companion, the property makes the ideal romantic bolthole or base for a small family. North Devon’s glorious coastline is just 10 miles away and Exmoor National Park is within 8 miles of the cottage.
The converted chapel is bursting with character, thanks to magnificent stained-glass windows and ornate panelling. The property also benefits from luxurious creature comforts such as underfloor heating to create cosy dozing spots for the pup. At the heart of the home is an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with a vaulted ceiling and a warming wood burner for those chilly nights. Relax here, after a day of adventure with your canine buddy, to watch a film on the Smart TV or share a delicious, home-cooked meal at the elegant dining table. Completing the ground floor is a single bedroom and a contemporary shower room. Upstairs, a stylish, king-size bedroom awaits, again boasting beautiful, original features. Outside, you and Fido can enjoy an al fresco supper in the enclosed courtyard.
Head into the traditional market town of Barnstaple (3 miles), where you’ll find an array of independent shops and eateries and an indoor market selling a whole host of local goods and produce.
