If your top dogs love to scamper along the seashore and go for walkies, this lovely period house overlooking historic Polruan Harbour will set tails wagging. The pet-friendly property sleeps eight humans and two canine companions, with spectacular, far-reaching sea and river views from every room. Perfect for families or groups of friends sharing, it sits within 100 metres of shops, pubs and the sea, and is a short passenger ferry ride across the river to the delightful town of Fowey. Dog-friendly beaches are within easy reach and the glorious South West Coast Path offers splendid scenic walks for energetic pups and owners alike.
The hallway of this stylish and beautifully furnished, three-storey holiday home opens to a shower room and two bedrooms: a welcoming double with an en-suite bathroom and an inviting king-size with en suite shower room with walk in shower and WC. A steep staircase leads down to the airy open-plan living space, comprising comfortable seating and a wonderful harbour view from the lounge. A step up leads to the country-style dining area alongside a streamlined kitchen. The first floor houses a stylish family bathroom with free standing bath, separate walk in shower and WC plus two bedrooms: a super king-size which can be made into twin beds on request, and a double. Outside a patio overlooks the harbour – please supervise children, as this is not enclosed – and a balcony with seating.
While Polruan’s small beach is not open to dogs, your pets can run free at Par Sands and Polridmouth Cove, both within 7 miles. The National Trust’s dog-friendly Lantic Bay (1 mile) is worth the 1-mile walk and steep cliff path for its unspoiled white sands and turquoise waters. Furry friends are welcome on boat trips up the Fowey Estuary and salty sea dogs will enjoy the ferry across St Austell Bay to picturesque Mevagissey. The village is just 2 miles from the beautiful, dog-friendly Lost Gardens of Heligan and the renowned Eden Project is 14.5 miles from your holiday home.
