We booked Delacy Hall for a joint 70th birthday celebration - one last September, one next February, so Christmas fell in the middle. A perfect venue for the family to spend time together. Everything was absolutely lovely. Great to have space to play together, eat together, watch the large screen together, relax in the jacuzzi together. Yes, toRead moregetherness was a big thing but there were also rooms to sit quietly and read away from excited grandchildren. Of course Nanny and Grampy had the master bedroom with the luxury of ensuite facilities and pretty overhead lights. All the bedrooms were sympathetically set up to compliment the building, as was the living area. Although the other bedrooms didn't have ensuites, the three shared showers were high spec and so many toilets there was no queuing! The whirlpool bath was also made use of. We had three more visitors for two nights, taking us up to 10, with a teenager making use of the sofa bed, but still there was enough space not to feel on top of one another. In warmer weather we'd have made more use of the garden but it was good to have an outside area for our small dog to explore. Being chillier outside, it was a good excuse to light the fires. Set in a lovely quiet village with beautiful walks to shake off the cobwebs, we really couldn't have asked for more. Good to have the owners nearby for any queries. On the morning of our departure we discovered we had a flat battery. The owner kindly arrived with his van and jump leads so we were soon on our way, still talking about our fantastic Christmas! December 28th...I booked this cottage for my family after having had an extremely emotional and exhausting last few months of 2024 We all needed some R & R in lorry loads...and that's just what we received. It was an amazing place to stay and I really don't know where to start as I could enthuse on every room and it's contents. So much attentiRead moreon has been given to detail. The kitchen in particular was stocked with everything you could possibly wish for, indeed I did notice that most of the equipment came from John Lewis, not what you expect to see in a holiday rental but then again this isn't your usual holiday home The bed linen was 100% cotton and bathroom towels were huge and very comforting (I took a note of the name of the towels they were so absorbing and fluffy...will definitely get some myself) We booked for five days and in that time we only went out once as we were so cosy and warm with the lovely log fires and an efficient heating system. Spending Twixmas at Delacy was such an enjoyable time for my children, grandchildren and myself... bringing peace and warmth. I cannot comment on the surrounding areas as we didn't explore however we did take a stroll into the village centre - it hosts a small shop with limited items but enough for what we wanted and a pub... not the most hospitable establishment, one drink and we left...shame as it had so much potential Would I return to Delacy?
