Get away from it all with friends, family and your favourite furry pal in this fabulous collection of holiday homes in Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons). The spacious property sleeps 15 guests and one waggy-tailed companion and is set within a 100-acre working farm, 3 miles from Sennybridge. As expected, the surrounding area is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, with the long-distance Epynt Way walking trail passing through the farm, and the popular peak of Pen y Fan just 12 miles away.

The accommodation is arranged across three separate properties, all of which beautifully combine contemporary decor and furniture with striking original features. The first holiday retreat is a stunning four-bedroom farm cottage (please note, this property is a woof-free zone). The cottage has a spacious lounge/kitchen/diner with ample space to cook up culinary delights and host dinner parties and family gatherings, as well as a cosy lounge area with a warming wood burner. There is a ground-floor double bedroom with increased accessibility, an en-suite wet room, and a rise-and-recline bed. The remaining king-size bedrooms are upstairs, two of which have additional double sofa beds. All three first-floor bedrooms have en-suite facilities.

The second property is a paw-friendly, two-bedroom converted barn, with gorgeous exposed beams and stonework. At the heart of the home is an open-plan lounge/diner, where you and the hound can unwind after a day of adventure. This room leads through to a country-style kitchen, with everything needed for a self-catering break. Upstairs, you’ll find a double bedroom with a fabulous, free-standing bath in one corner – the ideal place to relax after a long dog walk. Completing the accommodation is a single bedroom and a contemporary shower room.

The final holiday home is also suitable for your four-legged chum. This two-bedroom cottage is full of rural charm, again boasting characterful original features. The welcoming lounge/diner is a delightful place to chill out at the end of the day, with comfortable seating set under a wonderful beamed ceiling. The separate kitchen is equipped with everything needed to create delicious dinners, perhaps using ingredients from your travels. Upstairs in the eaves, two peaceful double bedrooms await, along with a family bathroom.

The three properties are enveloped by 100 acres of tranquil, Welsh farmland. Before breakfast, stride out with your furry walking buddy to explore the grounds, or perhaps enjoy a sunset stroll before dinner. You’ll also have access to an array of enclosed and unenclosed garden spaces, with furniture and a BBQ for al fresco entertaining. At the four-bedroom cottage, you’ll find a 14-person swim spa to revive weary legs after an action-packed day.

When it comes to walkies, you’ll have plenty of options. Let Rover burn off steam in the 40-acre Craig Y Nos Country Park (7 miles), or take a shady amble through the trees at Glasfynydd Forest (8 miles). Alternatively, enjoy waterside walks along the banks of the River Usk or the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal. Water sports enthusiasts will love all the activities on offer at Llangorse Lake (19 miles), or for shopping and eating out, head to the bustling market town of Brecon (12.5 miles). For a fun, woof-friendly day out, the National Showcaves Centre for Wales is just 6.5 miles away.

I would 100% recommend this to any of my friends and family. The whole place was to a very high standard. We were celebrating my sisters 60th birthday and there were 14 of us. Plenty of room for everyone. Yes it is a working farm with working farm smells outside but it did not spoil anything at all. The very friendly dogs and cat were a lovelRead morey little bonus too. Loved every moment of our time there. Thank you for being excellent hosts. Hide

We were a large family group spaning four generation who've been holiday together for 10+ years. We've stayed in many different types of accommodations including castles and stately homes, but the Crai valley group of three houses have been the best equipped and supplied by far. Everybody was impressed by it. The open plan layout of the main house Read moreworks really well for socialising as well as quiet relaxing. The properties were very clean, comfortably furnished and spacious. The hosts, Heidi and her family, were always easy to find and extremely helpful and friendly. The unexpected tractor ride around the valley was a wonderful bonus. Would 100% recommend to others. Hide

We all had a wonderful holiday and our hosts were very accommodating. The area is so beautiful and although we were a party of mixed ages everyone was able to feel part of the holiday. We had 3 cottages and all I can say is that everything was excellent. Very well equipped, spotlessly clean and a great central location. The farmer even did an Easter egg hunt for the little ones.

The cottages we stayed in were well stocked with everything we needed, beautiful touches such as valentines sweeties for each of us. We had a great time and so nice to see a working farm where they were more than happy to come talk to us and we even helped deliver a lamb! Amazing weekend we will be back soon
