This picture-postcard cottage is in the heart of the Cornish countryside, yet just 2 miles from the coastal village of Porthtowan. The property sleeps six guests and two pups and makes the perfect base for families and groups of friends looking to get away from it all. You and your waggy-tailed friend will be spoilt for choice when it comes to walkies, with the traffic-free Mineral Tramways Trail passing just 50 metres away and the South West Coast Path within 2 miles.
The property exudes rustic charm, with exposed beams and stonework and charming country-cottage decor. The light and airy kitchen has everything needed for a self-catering holiday, and you can gather in the characterful dining room for family mealtimes in the glow of the wood burner. After a long coastal walk with Fido, unwind in front of the Smart TV in the lounge, whilst your furry companion stretches out next to the second wood burner. There is also a double bedroom on the ground floor with direct access to the garden, as well as a family bathroom. Cottage-style stairs lead to the first floor and the two remaining bedrooms, both of which enjoy countryside views. To the front of the cottage is an enclosed garden with a lawn for the woofer to play on, along with a patio area with outdoor furniture and a pond (children and dogs must be supervised at all times). To the rear of the property is a courtyard garden with a raised seating area and a water feature. From here, steps lead to a secluded, lawned garden with a picnic table and plenty of space for a game of fetch.
The villages of Porthtowan and Porthreath are within 2 miles, both of which have a small selection of independent shops and eateries. The beaches at Porthtowan and Porthreath have dog restrictions during summer months, but your furry beachgoers are still welcome to enjoy an early-morning walk or a sunset stroll. Nearby beaches without restrictions are Gwithian Beach (12.5 miles) and Bassetts Cove (4 miles). Days out from the cottage include the seaside resorts of Newquay (17.5 miles) and St Ives (18 miles).
