This countryside retreat is in the traditional Devon village of Abbotsham. Sleeping eight guests and two hounds, the property is the ideal setting for a family reunion or get-together with friends. There are some stunning walks from the village, following the South West Coast Path. You’ll also be just 2 miles from the seaside resort of Westward Ho! In the evenings, stroll to the local village pub or rest your tired legs in your private hot tub.

The spacious cottage carefully blends characterful original features with contemporary furniture and creature comforts, to create a real home-away-from-home for you and the woofers. Kick off sandy shoes and hang up the dog leads in the hallway, before heading through to the bright kitchen/diner. This sociable space has all the equipment needed to whip up hearty meals for the group and a large dining table to seat everyone. This is also a great spot for the hounds to hang out, with hard flooring and direct access to the garden. The inviting lounge is warm and cosy, with a wood burner and twinkling fairy lights. Unwind here on the plump, L-shaped sofa to watch the Smart TV. The garage/utility room and a handy shower room complete the ground floor. Upstairs, four tranquil bedrooms await, along with a stylish family bathroom and an additional shower room. Just off the kitchen/diner is a small terrace and from here, stairs lead down to the enclosed garden. Enjoy al fresco dining in summer months, whilst admiring the far-reaching views across the surrounding fields. Alternatively, sip a sundowner in the hot tub as Rover and Fido play on the lawn.

For a day at the seaside with your canine beach-goers, head to the golden sands of Westward Ho! The beach has a long, woof-friendly section all year, and there are some beautiful walks to sniff and explore through the sand dunes or along the cliff-top paths. The town also has a great selection of paw-friendly eateries. The picture-postcard fishing village of Clovelly (10 miles), with its cobbled high street, flower-covered cottages, and picturesque harbour makes a lovely doggy day out, as does Hartland Abbey and Gardens (13 miles) and the historic market town of Bideford (2.5 miles).

Superb cottage. A really comfortable and cosy place well equipped with the added bonus of a hot tub and downstairs wet room. It was brilliant with the dogs as well with a totally secure garden.

A perfect little retreat! Despite the weather we had a wonderful stay at this holiday cottage with our family and two dogs, Teddy and Buster. From the moment we arrived, it felt warm and welcoming with the fairy lights that had been left on for our arrival and the lovely wecome goodies awaiting us in the kitchen. The kitchen was well equipped, the living space was cozy and the bedrooms were both comfortable and spotless. The location was perfectpeaceful and quiet, yet only a short drive from local shops, and beaches with an excellent village pub within walking distance which we would highly recommend. We especially loved chilling in the hottub in the garden enjoying the fresh air and countryside views. We wouldnt hesitate to return, and would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to explore this part of the country. A big thumbs up and paws up from us all. Hide
