Enjoy a luxurious escape to the seaside with your favourite humans and hound in this spectacular retreat in the unspoilt seaside village of Downderry. The property offers direct access to a woof-welcoming beach and is perfectly placed for walkies along the dramatic South West Coast Path. Nearby day trips include the fishing town of Looe (6 miles) and the picture-postcard harbour at Polperro (11 miles).

The beachside bolthole has been decorated and furnished to an exceptional standard and boasts panoramic sea views from its floor-to-ceiling windows. Natural materials and beach-themed accessories all act as a reminder of your fantastic location on the Cornish coast. The living space is a bright, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner where you can whip up hearty meals to share at the sleek breakfast bar or around the formal dining table. There’s an array of comfortable seating dotted throughout the space, as well as a cosy lounge area with a huge sofa and a Smart TV. Bi-fold doors from the living space lead out onto an enclosed, decked area with far-reaching sea views and outdoor furniture. Dine alfresco here, as Rover potters around on the lawn below, or wander out to the second terrace to soak up some rays on the sun loungers. Heading downstairs, you’ll find a fabulous entertainment room with a multi-games table, Smart TV, PlayStation, and comfortable sofas.

The sand and shingle beach at Downderry can be accessed directly from the garden, and welcomes canine visitors all year. The beach is quiet and secluded, rarely getting crowded even in the height of summer. At low tide, you and the pup can amble along the shoreline for 1 mile to Seaton. This coastal village has a friendly, woof-welcoming pub and several cute cafes. There are also some lovely riverside and woodland trails to sniff and explore within the village, along with the wildlife haven of Seaton Valley Country Park.

The property is very spacious and has been furnished and provisioned to a high standard. Parking is easy and there is ample space for at least two large cars. The view at the front of the property is outstanding. Although there is a good restaurant and public house there is nowhere to buy groceries in either Downberry or Seaton (the nearest we founRead mored was at Looe). We visited in the second week in May 25. During this visit the location could not be described as being peaceful. To the rear and left of the property there is substantial building work going on with the associated noise. Also, as it was a superb week for the weather, the infants school next door performed the school 'lessons' outside. In practice the meant 5 to 7 year old children running about and screaming for the majority of the school day. Hide

Such a beautiful place to stay. From opening the front door the view was breathtaking. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and beds and furniture very comfortable. Just the place to celebrate my retirement

We had a lovely stay at Sandpipers, the views are amazing. Perfect holiday, Downderry view quiet which was just what we like, shop is no longer open so either have to drive to shops or turn up well stocked. Beds super comfy and everything you need is there, including washing machine which is not listed on equipment list. Would definitely revisitRead more. Hide

We have been travelling to all over Devon and Cornwall for many years and have tried lots of different properties. This was right up there as one of the very best, if not the best. Its idyllically quiet. There is a school next door but even in the height of summer it was not invasive. The property has amazing views overlooking the sea and you gRead moreet lulled to sleep each night by the sound of lapping waves. Its very well equipped throughout and the children loved the games room which has lots to do even for the inevitable rainy days. What made this especially great was that the room is downstairs so the noise of happy children didnt disturb us as much as at home! This is a peaceful quiet village so is definitely for those who crave a break from the rush of normal life. Shops are a 15 min drive and there is an excellent pub overlooking the sea a stumble from the property and a tapas bar a similar distance (but without the sea views). My only fear in recommending this property is that we wont get in it again once everyone else discovers it. Thank you for a wonderful break. Hide
