This woof-welcoming retreat is in the pretty village of Wool, just 5 miles from the Jurassic Coast. The property sleeps five guests and two canine buddies, and makes a great base for both families and friends looking to explore this beautiful corner of Dorset. Enjoy walks from your doorstep around the village and along the River Frome, or head to the coast to explore the paw-friendly beaches and dramatic cliff-top paths.
The semi-detached cottage has characterful features such as exposed beams and an original inglenook fireplace, and the decor is traditional and homely. Enter the property via a side door into a welcoming entrance hall where you can store outdoor attire. The country-style kitchen/diner has a tiled floor, direct access to the garden, and ample space to set up the dog beds. You’ll find all the equipment needed for a self-catering holiday, and there’s a farmhouse dining table for sharing mealtimes as a group. In the evenings, unwind in the cosy lounge to watch a film on the Smart TV. A handy utility room completes this floor. Upstairs, three inviting bedrooms are set in the eaves (please note, you may experience restricted head height in some areas). One of the bedrooms has an en-suite bathroom and there is also a family bathroom on this level. Outside, the enclosed garden is a real sun trap, with a patio area for al fresco dining, a large lawn where the pups can play, and beautiful beds full of colourful flowers.
The cottage is within easy reach of the sand and shingle beach at Lulworth Cove (5.5 miles), which welcomes hounds all year. A short walk from here, across the hill, brings you to the beauty spot of Durdle Door and the iconic limestone arch that juts out into the sea. History enthusiasts will enjoy a potter around the ruins at Corfe Castle (9.5 miles) and here you and the woofers can board a steam train to visit the seaside town of Swanage.
