This woof-welcoming retreat is in the pretty village of Wool, just 5 miles from the Jurassic Coast. The property sleeps five guests and two canine buddies, and makes a great base for both families and friends looking to explore this beautiful corner of Dorset. Enjoy walks from your doorstep around the village and along the River Frome, or head to the coast to explore the paw-friendly beaches and dramatic cliff-top paths.

The semi-detached cottage has characterful features such as exposed beams and an original inglenook fireplace, and the decor is traditional and homely. Enter the property via a side door into a welcoming entrance hall where you can store outdoor attire. The country-style kitchen/diner has a tiled floor, direct access to the garden, and ample space to set up the dog beds. You’ll find all the equipment needed for a self-catering holiday, and there’s a farmhouse dining table for sharing mealtimes as a group. In the evenings, unwind in the cosy lounge to watch a film on the Smart TV. A handy utility room completes this floor. Upstairs, three inviting bedrooms are set in the eaves (please note, you may experience restricted head height in some areas). One of the bedrooms has an en-suite bathroom and there is also a family bathroom on this level. Outside, the enclosed garden is a real sun trap, with a patio area for al fresco dining, a large lawn where the pups can play, and beautiful beds full of colourful flowers.

The cottage is within easy reach of the sand and shingle beach at Lulworth Cove (5.5 miles), which welcomes hounds all year. A short walk from here, across the hill, brings you to the beauty spot of Durdle Door and the iconic limestone arch that juts out into the sea. History enthusiasts will enjoy a potter around the ruins at Corfe Castle (9.5 miles) and here you and the woofers can board a steam train to visit the seaside town of Swanage.

The cottage was fantastic! The enclosed garden was safe and perfect for our dog. The house was perfect, lots of space so 2 adults, 2 teens and a dog, never felt on top of eachother. The kitchen was really well equipped,we stayed 7 nights and I cooked 6 nights. Loved it and will definitely book again.

Excellently located property, great for visiting so many places of interest in this part of the UK. The garden is beautiful with a big table, great for sitting outside for meals or drinks in good weather. Low ceilings affect part of the upstairs bedrooms and both bathrooms, but at 62, this was ok for a couple of weeks. The rest of our party had no Read moreproblem at all. Lovely position and house just not great for young kids due to old creaky floor boards and thin walls. Well appointed and very clean with lots of space. Added bonus of garden and barbecue.

Lovely house in a beautiful part of Dorset. Unfortunately the house and garden was in need of some TLC when we stayed.

Lovely property in a great location, allowing for dog walks, family day trips (Weymouth beach, Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove, Corfe Castle were all close by highlights of our trip). The garden is beautiful and really well maintained, lovely to sit out, and a big bonus having a gas BBQ. There is a train line running behind the property but the trains wRead moreeren't too noisy for us. Facilities within the cottage are great - well appointed kitchen with dishwasher, separate utility room with washing machine really useful, books and board games in the lounge. Beds were really comfy. Only downside was there was quite a lot of dust in corners of room and built up behind furniture, so not as clean as you would expect for a holiday let. Hide

The cottage is comfortable and has everything you could possibly need for a good holiday. We so enjoyed sitting in the beautiful garden, we spent more time in it than we would usually. Wool has all essential shops and the area has so many lovely places within a short drive. We would love to come again.

Overall, a very pleasant stay. The views were lovely. It was difficult to find safe footpaths & often had to walk on the roads in the area. If you are tall, avoid this property, my husband is 65 and really struggled. Sorry from that, it was faultless.
