Go barking mad for this magnificent property, where character and charm are combined with stylish touches for a truly memorable stay. After days wandering Alnwick’s historic centre and getting the zoomies on Northumberland’s stunning beaches, unwind in the elegant lounge or gather together for a BBQ in the pretty courtyard garden. Built in the 1790s, this Grade II-listed Georgian property has been lovingly restored with designer wallpaper, period-style furnishings and high-quality fixtures and fittings. Shrug off shoes and hang up leads in the convenient porch before heading to the kitchen/diner to make a cuppa and set up food and drink bowls for the dogs. This stunning room features a tiled floor, colourful kitchen cabinets, a range-style oven and a delightful bench dining table. Set on the first floor, the lounge has plenty of cosy spots for humans and dogs alike to snooze after a day of adventuring. Sleeping arrangements comprise six stylish bedrooms arranged across three floors. Choose from a king-size room on the ground floor, a double and a bunk room on the first floor, and three king-size bedrooms on the second floor. Four bathrooms, an additional WC, and a utility room offer comfort and convenience for all. Set over three levels, the rear garden features bench seating, a BBQ, and a lawn where children and dogs can play safely.
Let your pups lead the way to adventure as you set off to explore the dog-friendly trails along the River Aln, which offers great views of the castle. Although dogs can’t visit the castle, they are welcome to join you in Barter Books, the UK’s largest secondhand bookshop, and on the Aln Valley Railway. Venture to Alnmouth (5 miles) to scamper on sands or take history-loving hounds to explore Warkworth Castle (7 miles) and the Holy Island of Lindisfarne (26 miles).
