Lose yourselves in the incredible views out across rolling Derbyshire from this exquisite, dog-friendly retreat. Sleeping four human guests, the two-bedroom cottage offers single-storey accommodation and a beautiful private garden from its position in Hackney, 2 miles from Matlock and 1.5 miles from the magnificent Peak District. Dry damp paws and pull wellies off in the utility room. Amble on through to the capacious kitchen/diner, with its glass wall and gable end that bring the light and the scenery inside. Plan a trip to Chatsworth House, 6.5 miles away, where four-pawed visitors are welcome to explore the beautiful grounds. Take your chum to the Heights of Abraham too. The owners have thought very carefully about everything that could make their guests stay more comfortable. I had packed extra toilet rolls, tea towels, etc, no beed they had it all covered. The new kitchen space is a great addition. Everything you need is there with plenty of extra mugs so youre not having to wash them up by hand throughout the day. The appliances are top end. The area is peaceful, you dont hear any noise at night. We loved our week here and would highly recommend this property. The owners are obviously kind people who have enjoyed creating a beautiful holiday home for others to enjoy. BTW. A truly wonderful property. Views (when not misty) are to die for! A perfect home from home for our Festive visit to see family. After travelling, it was super to be greeted with a lovely hamper, a welcoming letter, lovely homely/exquisite touches and milk in the fridge. Our dog Bounty was not forgotten either and received treats also. Keith and SuRead moree have truly set the bar very high for those wishing to venture to Matlock and its surroundings for a holiday. It was idyllic in Winter; must be fabulous in the Summer with the doors open and dining Al fresco. We even managed to squeeze in a visit to Matlocks Christmas fair. Magical trip and will most definitely return but I assume bookings will come in thick and very fast. Once you have experienced this property, you will want to go back. Need to book quickly. The cottage is very comfortable, with a well equipped kitchen and excellent walk-in shower. We had a cold week in mid-November and the house could have been warmer at times. The Hope valley and Castleton are about 45 minutes away. There is a short driveway to park one car, though access is quite restricted for larger vehicles and needs care, alternatively parking on the road is usually possible. Hide
