Treat yourselves to a romantic break at this unique holiday home in Menheniot and take your little four-legged friend too. Sleeping just two human guests, the one-bedroom Cornish bolthole was once a chapel but has been cleverly converted into accommodation that you and your furry pal will adore. Situated 4 miles from Liskeard and 7 miles from Looe, it is 8 miles from the dog-friendly beach at Downderry.

Watch furry ears prick up when you step into this unique and inviting hideaway. The open-plan lounge/kitchen, with its exposed stone and woodwork and high vaulted ceiling, is a great place to rest tired feet and paws. Watch your chum curl up on the thick rug while you sit back to watch the Smart TV, read your books or chat about your day. Prepare delicious meals and serve doggy dinners in the hand-built kitchen, keeping the French doors open so you can all stroll out into the enclosed courtyard garden afterwards. Give Fido a goodnight hug then head off to the stylish shower room for a long soak. Make your way to the colourful king-size bedroom, with its four-poster bed, for a long sleep. Stairs from the main living area lead up to a mezzanine where a second lounge features a sofa bed for additional guests by arrangement. We had a very relaxing holiday in a very quirky comfortable cottage, every day we noticed some new design feature that was a lesson in recycling. The kitchen had every thing u needed. The village was lovely and the village shop had everything u needed and staff were very friendly. Had a great time Hilary Keith and Alfie the dog.

I had a lovely short break. The place was so quirky and you could see how much work has gone into the place so many little details. It was lovely and quiet which was what I needed. Nice to have the tennis and cricket field practically opposite for walking the dogs.

Lovely and quirky rental with everything you need for a couple of night's stay. Would be fab in the summer with patio doors open. Was warm and cosy for our end of October stay.

Very unusual property with some interesting design features. The photos definitely made it look more spacious but for two people and one small elderly dog it was fine. Well equipped kitchen, very comfortable bed and lovely bathroom all spotlessly clean on our arrival. However nowhere to eat other than on our laps or using the tray tables. Had the wRead moreeather been better ( it was appalling all the time we were there) we could have sat outside. Although the space is limited perhaps a fold up table and chairs would be nice? The village is nice but apart from a well stocked shop there is nothing else so be prepared to drive at least 6 miles to a pub / beach/ other attractions. Response from holidaycottages.co.uk - Thank you for your feedback - There is a very nice pub within walking distance next to Menheniot train station, the sportsman's valley hotel, good food with a lovely view. We loved the Stables. It has everything you need. Its spotlessly clean and well equipped. Also a large field almost opposite to walk the dogs. It is so quirky, where a great deal of thought and imagination has gone into it. Its a perfect little gem and would definitely return in the future. I would definitely recommend it.

It is a delightful, cosy comfortable cottage full of quirky charm . It is a great base from which to explore the local area and we enjoyed our stay. However it is worth pointing out that this property is the converted stable and office ADJACENT to the chapel and NOT THE ENTIRE CHAPEL which the overview on the website suggests and this statement , cRead moreoupled with the wide angled lens shots may lead visitors to think that it is more spacious than it is. The outdoor area is a lovely suntrap but the furniture has changed since the photo was taken and this, coupled with the wide angled shot again suggests more outdoor space than there actually is . Although it states 2 dogs are welcome, we have a small dog but he couldnt really run in the confined space - (there is however a fantastic recreation ground across the road which alleviates this problem.) The cottage was quirky, warm & comfortable with everything you needed for a good stay. The only downside is you need your car to go anywhere but we had come to visit relatives so that wasn't a problem for us also there are no local eateries but there is a well stocked Spar just down the road.
