Lovely cottage, beautifully clean and well equipped. The garden is perfectly secure for dogs. Great walks from the doorstep and a very peaceful location. We had the best time and the weather was better than we expected for November.

Great location for walkers, we would highly recommend the local walks in Kielder Forest - our dog loved it too. There is a pub and a cafe just ten minutes drive away - both very good. If you want to explore wider, it takes about an hour to get to the coast or major attractions.

We had a really good time at Forest retreat. It is beautifully furnished, well equipped and very comfortable. Short walks in the nearby woods are nice. The only downside is that the nearest coffee shop or pub is 5 or more miles away, so intermediate length walks generally start with a trip in the car. And the roads are such that a trip to KieldRead moreer reservoir is 40+ minute driving. We managed one non-cloudy night where we lay in the garden and saw the milky way. Very cool. Hide

A lovely cottage, well situated for great days out in Northumberland or over the Scottish border. Only an hour away from Newcastle, and loads of great places to eat.

The house is amazing, we had loads of room to relax after our walks and the house is very dog friendly. The kitchen is great , you have enough utensils to cook a full blown meal . The bed was very comfortable all the bathrooms were lovely. The village is nice and quiet and some lovely walks nearby. We really enjoyed our stay.

Forest Retreat is an exceptional cottage and we loved every minute of our stay there. The location is unique - Byrness, a 1950s village set within the Redesdale forests - and the house is beautifully conceived. The furniture and equipment are all of a high standard and we adored the interior design. The cottage was also impeccably clean. Forest RRead moreetreat is over 400 miles away from where we live, but we long to return there. Hide
