What an absolutely wonderful holiday lodge, ideally situated in wonderful walking country. It is equipped to the highest of standards with top of the range equipment including the high end kitchen and showers in bathrooms that ooze quality. Having the hot tub placed centrally on the verandah ensures early morning and early evening relaxation sessioRead morens are moments of pure pleasure as you sit back and simply soak in the wonderful views down the valley whilst also watching out for the many birds that pass by or sit posing in the trees. Parking is perfectly safe and secure in the market place and also gives an opportunity to make use of the shops and cafes. Although some visitors may find the walk to and from the lodge a chore, it adds to the delight of staying in such a wonderful place and allows yet another chance to stand next to a Dalek or two! The path up to the lodge is quite steep but is beautifully smoothly surfaced and the impressive wooden fence provides a very sturdy handrail, if needed. Arranging to be met by the owner with his quad bike and trailer is straight forward and there is genuine warmth in his greeting. All luggage is easily transported to and from the car/lodge at the start and end of the stay. The grounds around the lodge provide homes for deer, hawks, owls and bats and if you are especially lucky you will also get to see the resident red squirrel. Sounds of the river at the foot of the hill provide soothing background noise whilst footpaths along it also allow easy walking. At the end of a busy day walking, what can be better than lighting the log burner and relaxing in front of the warmth and making use of the ample supply of logs and kindling. Hide
