Had a gorgeous stay at Silverthorne. Although the weather was pretty rainy we still managed to have an amazing stay. The cottage is really well appointed and decorated, with everything you need. The kitchen was well stocked and I think the owners had really tried to think of everything. Amazing views and very peaceful and quiet. Slept with the Read morewindow open and all we could hear was the faint sound of the waves in the distance. The dog loved the garden, the only thing is that although enclosed its not fully secure. Our girl was fine but if you have a young or very boisterous dog you probably wouldnt want to leave them unattended (although the cottage is at the end of a track so they wouldnt be running out onto a road or anything.) We had a perfect stay and would def return. Big thanks to the owners. Xxx Hide

Just had a lovely 5 days at Silverthorne Cottage. The property was very clean and the furnishings are top class. The beds as described are very low but extremely comfortable. Seeing the sea from the lounge and kitchen windows was such a delight each day. The little village was an absolute delight and there were plenty of walks with stunning views. Read more I would recommend this property but need to point out (especially if you have a dog) that the garden is not enclosed as stated. One side of the house there was a 10-12ft gap between the house and the side fence which led straight out of the property and on the other side there were two gaps about 3ft wide each that did the same. Apart from this which was naturally annoying I cannot fault the property Hide

Fantastic location, nicely decorated but sadly flawed by putting design above function and practicality. For two people the property was enjoyable despite a ridiculous kettle that just holds enough water for two (not good if 4 in your party) of the massive mugs provided-note bring your own kettle - a shower which floods the bathroom every time its Read moreused - so has to be mopped up after every use( mop provided by owner - how thoughtful), and the reasonable request from the owner to keep the property clean whilst occupied ( 90% Bare laminate or wood flooring so if you dont clean the sand can make it perilously slippy) - but they only provide you with a dust pan on a stick and brush and a small hand held Shark Vac which might be okay if you dont walk or sit on the beaches, surf or swim or have a dog with you - note bring own vacuum. Theres only one wardrobe in one bedroom and no where to put clothes at night in either bedroom such as a chair, and no external drying facilities for beach towels etc except a clothes horse which has to stand on a bumpy uneven sloping lawn and falls over in a breeze. But .. what a location, peaceful with a lovely sea view and easy walk into Morthoe, easy access to Woolacombe beach; great place to stay if you dont mind the above or you bring the items suggested.
