This Grade II-listed country home is in the quaint village of Stoven, just over 5 miles from the Suffolk coast. The property sleeps eight guests and two waggy-tailed pals, making it perfect for families and friends seeking an idyllic getaway. Woodland walks and tracks branch away from the village, while you can enjoy rugged coastal walkies at nearby Covehithe (5.5 miles). 

The 16th-century cottage is surrounded by countryside and enjoys serene views of the village church through its original oak windows. The property blends period elements with elegant furniture and contemporary design features. The welcoming lounge offers a haven in which to relax with a luxurious corner sofa and a crackling wood burner. The contemporary kitchen has all the equipment needed to cater for a large group, as well as space for the pooches to set up camp. Come together for memorable evenings in the formal dining room with its leather dining chairs and roaring wood burner. The entire ground floor benefits from underfloor heating, which the pups will adore. An oak staircase leads to the first floor, where you’ll find two super-king-size rooms, one with an en-suite bathroom, and a luxurious family bathroom. On the second floor, served by a chic shower room, find a super-king-size room and a cosy twin. Outside, the enclosed garden offers over an acre of space for dogs to burn off steam. A sun-soaked patio with furniture and a BBQ beckons al fresco dinners, while the tennis court stands ready for family games. Finally, a separate studio/study offers a quiet space to escape with your holiday read.

For a day at the seaside, head to Southwold (5.5 miles), known for its iconic pier and pretty beach huts. This charming seaside town has been named the UK's best holiday destination in 2024. The picturesque market town of Beccles (6.5 miles) offers a fine array of independent shops and eateries. Here, you can enjoy delightful, waterside walkies along the River Waveney on the edge of The Broads.

We really enjoyed our stay at church house, it was a peaceful location, glorious garden in the sunshine. Close to southwold, and not far to aldeburgh, we will definitely look to stay again. Kitchen equipment was fantastic, and had all basic kitchen supplies - tea, coffee, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets. This small things make a big differRead moreence. Hide
