Set in a location easily accessible from the A361, and in an elevated position, this farm and much of the land is owned by the Castle Hill Estate, a Grade I-listed park and gardens which is open occasionally to the public. Guests can enjoy the village inn, a beautiful, thatched pub in a lakeside setting which sits adjacent to the estate and serves food. The attractive market town of South Molton (3 miles) also known as ‘The Gateway to Exmoor’ has a variety of shops and a weekly market. Other attractions close by include the National Trust’s Watersmeet Gorge, Valley of the Rocks, and Lynton and Lynmouth’s funicular cliffside railway powered by water, all within 20 miles. On Exmoor you'll find walks to suit every ability – highlights include Tarr Steps and the village of Withypool home to Lanacre Bridge (both 15 miles). The best sandy beaches for surfing and swimming can be found at Woolacombe, Saunton and Croyde (all within 20 miles).

Accessed via external steps, the accommodation is set over three floors and sits adjacent to the owner’s thatched farmhouse. Follow the steps up to the front door and enter the hallway. The lounge/diner is to your right and is a light and airy room with comfy sofas, a Smart TV, and a DVD player plus a selection of books games and DVDs. A large dining table allows for family meals and is an ideal spot for a board game. Back through the hall you’ll find the well-equipped kitchen with the original slate flooring. Upstairs are two bedrooms one double room and one king size room with zip and link bed (which can be made into twin beds on request) and an en-suite shower. The family bathroom completes this floor with a bathroom with shower over bath and a WC next door. Another flight of stairs rises to the second floor/attic room, where you will find a double bed and twin beds, ideal for younger members of the family.

Stepping outside, both the front and back doors of the cottage open out to the garden which is enclosed and fenced with a lawn patio with garden furniture and views across the cattle barns to the countryside beyond. We have just returned from a most glorious week at Buckingham Leary . The cottage was just perfect for a family of 5 with 2 dogs . There was still space for more visitors but we didn`t need the extra space ! The property is beautifully presented and spotlessly clean . All equipment you could want in a holiday cottage was provided and much more . Read moreThere were loads of DVD`S, books and games to keep the children entertained . The rooms were all very spacious and it felt like a home from home . The garden was wonderful for our dogs who got to roam freely in a large enclosed garden which they loved . The cottages location is perfect for exploring beautiful North Devon . We made full use of it`s great position and visited Saunton , Instow, Appledore ,Croyde , Woolacombe , Morthoe , Westward Ho! , Lynton and Lynmouth , Valley of the Rocks , Watersmeet Gorge, Quince Honey farm and Exmoor . All well worth a visit . Just wish we had more time as did not make it to Ilfracombe and Watermouth Castle but we will save that for next time ! The Hosts could not have been more welcoming and have obviously put a lot of thought into making this holiday cottage tick all your holiday boxes . We will certainly be back again Hide

A lovely well-equipped cleam comfy roomy cottage. Parking just across from the cottage. Friendly hosts next door. Appreciate the hosts, just before we arrived, installing wire netting all around the large paddock to the side of the house which meant our dogs could exercise safely with lots of space to run around in. The property is located in an idyllic part of north Devon just outside Barnstaple with a Tesco Superstore and other amenities a short 10 minute drive away. It is also ideally situated to take advantage of a number of north Devons attractions. We really loved our holiday, made extra special by our hosts (Simon & Adrianne) who were very friendly aRead morend helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and being close to hand in the neighbouring property made life so much easier. We are so grateful to both Simon and Adrianne for making our stay so pleasurable. There is ample car parking across from the property (we had two cars but there is clearly space for several vehicles). The property was clean and well maintained, making for a pleasant seven day stay. It is a sizeable property capable of providing ample accommodation for eight people. The weather was fabulous enabling us to take full advantage of the very large and spacious secluded garden which was well fenced enabling our 2 dogs to have free roam of the property without fear of escape or injury. The hosts made us feel most welcome and provided tea, coffee, milk etc., The kitchen was well appointed with a good selection of utensils. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have no hesitation in recommending the hosts, property and location to anyone looking for a relaxing, comfortable holiday in an idyllic location. If the property was closer to our home (we live a 5 hour drive away) we would love to frequent the property several times a year but I guess we will have to console ourselves with an annual holiday (perhaps a longer stay next time). We very much look forward to revisiting the property, Simon and Adrianne next year and hope the weather is as glorious! Hide
